Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted February 9, 2024 Paid Members Posted February 9, 2024 Big fan of CM Punk urging everyone to punch each other in the face and clearly having the best time with Big E while also being introduced as the "husband of AJ Lee". Yeah I watched it ffs. It was a great laugh. Quote

Rock stepping up to defend the family and him, Rock giving all the smack talk, looking much bigger than Roman etc. Then at the end when they walked off together you've got Rock strutting through and Roman trailling behind him. Romans been presented as an absolute megastar since he came back and went heel, last night he just looked like Rocks little brother, the real star has turned up now and that aura was gone. Like I say it was just one night, hopefully over the next few weeks he still comes across well, but if he keeps being together with Rock he comes across inferior, if they were against each other it would be different but together, Romans just the lackey for the big man I doubt it's just one night. I'd say it's a solid addition to the Bloodline storyline and any potential feud going forward, depending on how they do this. Quote

I dunno, I like it. It could be compelling tv Quote
The Gaffer Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Having watched it in full with fresh eyes it was admittedly a fucking ludicrous, one of a kind segment. Nothing with those exact variables and circumstances is going to happen again. Pure chaos butterfly stuff. I don't think Rollins came off that bad either, and I've been as vocal as anyone about what a wet fart he's been lately. He's never going to be Cody or Rock, so playing it straight and being the dependable "The fuck's this mad shit? I just want to wrestle for the fans" guy is - really - the best thing he can do. I worry for Cody getting those boos. It might have been a Vegas thing but it's impossible not to believe they've watered down the act after being in the utterly insane position of shitting the bed with him last year and still having just about every single fan in every single building roaring their heads off for him a year later but oh well. They just remember 'My Way'. .... because last time I tried to suggest nobody remembered Debra by the time the match came round they pointed out that the whole sorry affair up to "Take Debra out of the equation, she's a non factor" actually did feature in the My Way video which we all remember. If I had to accept it, so dyo yo, Ryo. Quote

Loki Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 With apology to all the boo boys, Beaky Blinders and Cody Crybabies, if I'm completely honest this sort of utter chaos is why I still watch wrestling. Everything about this run-in to Wrestlemania is completely ridiculous but also now ridiculously entertaining. Everything about that press conference said big time - big stars, big confrontations, big hype, and Seth Rollins. Chaos, confusion, heels and faces and who knows what? One of the reasons people don't really care for The Rock any more is because his act is SO stale. Well, that was a different Rock out there for sure, and one that is infinitely more interesting. I still want to see Rock v Reigns but if that happens next year or more likely at Summerslam, great. In the meantime, some crazy faction wars between the Samoans and the Workhorses, with a Cody Wrestlemania moment thrown in, sounds like a good time to me. I know that sometimes you should do the simple story, but also if I'm honest, when wrestling is chaotic and unpredicatable it tends to be the most fun. Quote

I don't think anybody should be worried. It's The Rock. Whatever your opinion might be on him now, he's a massive star with a huge fanbase and they're going to make their voice heard, whoever he's going up against. I don't think that response was because Cody's star has diminished or because of the fuckery of the last week, it's just that Rocky really does have millions and millions of fans. Quote

I wonder if he stuck for so long as the babyface stale act because he was so concerned with his good guy image in whatever he did, whether it was his alcohol business or once he hit the big movies in Hollywood etc. Now he seems to be on a downturn in regards to that, it's probably the perfect time for him to be able to dip into something a bit more heelish on the wrestling side. Paid Members Nick James Posted February 9, 2024 Paid Members Posted February 9, 2024 This has got to lead to The Rock turning on Roman to give Cody the win, right? Rock takes out Solo and Jimmy at Mania thus leading back around to Cody having a conversation with The Rock prior to Smackdown? Rock surely can't pass up the chance to be cheered at Mania again and share Cody's big moment, leading to Roman / Rock at Summerslam. Quote
Mr_Danger Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 I want Cody to overcome all the odds. That means Bloodline shenanigans and everything. Have The Rock no show the shmoz then Roman go awol post mania leaving the family in disarray until Uncle Rocky pops in and says he’ll restore the natural order against Cody at Summerslam. Then have him refuse the lads help and lose with Roman returning the next night on Raw and him and the boys beat the testosterone therapy out of The Rock. Quote
