It's well insane here in North Carolina, lawn signs by the hundreds, GOTV carnival for Kamala on a luncheonette parking lot. Superduty truck parked outside of WalMart with a massive skeleton waving a flag showing Trump hulking up from having his ear clipped with a bullet.

I'm not actually sure a Harris win saves the world in any meaningful way. In fact, I think it opens Pandoras Box and we see how robust American democracy is as this time it won't be Trump and a few crackpots screaming the election was stolen, it'll be the entire Republican infrastructure and the various governors and whoever else. It'll be an absolute shit show.

The only real hope for this to end in something other than disaster is Harris to win in an absolutely stonking landslide so it's completely beyond reproach. And I doubt that's going to happen.

You're right, since I posted that a couple of weeks ago I've rewatched King of the Ring 2000 and it was mentioned in the middle of that (despite 11 matches squeezed into 3 precious PPV hours they still found time to devote a few minutes to Vince and Linda's political stablemate) – although Trump was first involved on WWF television as far back as the 80s so the point stands.

Trump's had odds like that, and better, for weeks if not months. 

There's a theory that as political betting has been legalised, rich Trump supporters are pouring money into the betting markets to create a narrative that Trump is obviously going to win, so they can attack the results should he lose.

Aye the main takeaway from nearly every article or post I've seen is regardless of which side it favours, ignore polls, betting odds, predictions, etc.
There sadly simply isn't any source in America right now that is impartial, even if they claim to be. How could you be with these candidates and with the money that can be made from talking about it?

My only hope is that in the chance Donald Trump does win again, he's assassinated fairly quickly after to minimize the damage. That or his clear onset dementia takes him.

Unfortunately, him being assassinated would be an even bigger disaster. It'd probably see a full civil war.

The only good outcome if he wins is that he's simply not competent enough to manage and maintain a programme of government that erodes democracy in the US and trust in international institutions. That's the really scary thing, that the best case scenario is his administration is broadly the same as last time.

Being ill means binging YouTube and shite, and this was one I quite enjoyed.

It's always fascinating to me to hear some of the batshit things people come out with, but at the core of it is very simple policies like the economy, taxes, food prices, the problem is they get so distorted that the crux of the issue gets left behind.

I don't agree with the oil well lad, but I understand his concerns.

There's not much point, all you'll really see is the slam dunk states (i.e. Alabama for Trump, Massachusetts for Harris etc) getting called. The close races will takes days to figure out. Probably into the weekend...but this year probably for months. The supreme court is likely going to decide this one anyway.

There's also no reliable exit poll really, and the pollsters that might try and give you some clarity are all saying 'no fucking idea mate'.

I'll still watch, because I suspect tonight - especially on the US channels - will be an absolute dumpster fire, and quite the sight to behold.

If Trump was to get assassinated it would be a near civil war on the streets of America, they will be convinced the 'Powers that be' took him out and it would be chaos. 

No matter how bad you think Trump is, him taken out would make it ten times worse.
