Why doesn’t it? Did the HR and talent relations guy have a load of experience in the field of HR or was he one of the boys who also got suspended.

Their head of Talent Relations is Curry Man for fuck's sake.

The reason why was in the quote you made. Either they lied at the start, or they are lying now. Or it’s some random side character saying he’s on Punks side with a made up “oh I heard” story. That the bucks took HR and Talent relations with them doesn’t in any way suggest they were booting doors. Claiming so after the fact is an attempt to try and make a “poor me” narrative for a guy who was clearly acting on anger from press conference on

The thing is, none of us really know what happened for sure. Was a door kicked in? Did it strike Punks dog? The only people who know are those who were there. The rest of us are forming our opinions based on if we like Punk or not.

What I will say is that if he is as much of a dog lover and as fond of little Larry as he claims and indeed appears to be, I'd be very shocked if he suddenly thought "you know what? Let's pretend that they kicked a door and it hit Larry. We can use the dog for sympathy."

It's only that particular train of thought that makes me believe that the dog was hit inadvertently, and it sent Punk into a rage. I'd also point out that those who kicked the door aren't at fault, as I'm fairly sure they didn't find out they'd hit the dog and reacted with an evil cackle at the thought of it. Only the sickest of fucks would take any satisfaction in hitting a dog, no matter who the owner is.

As has been said many times in this thread, regardless of what happened, no one involved comes out of it looking good. Punk did what Punk does, and the others involved would probably admit they could have handled it much better.

It's just a shame poor little Larry was seemingly caught up in this fragile ego-driven bullshit.

It’s almost as if this kind of jobs for the boys thing is the disaster that @Davidwas referring to.

They are two different people , one of which is Megha Parekh who is also head of HR/ legal for the Jags as well. She wasn’t suspended

Come on now, this thing about his dog’s teeth, that’s blatantly bullshit isn’t it.  That sort of detail would have leaked straight away.

Thanks. Good to know there are actual professional people on hand. Just read she apparently carried the dog away to safety. She is the hero in all of this, obviously.

Yeah, if JR had been there Larry would have a lot more to worry about. Terry Taylor was there we would know exactly what was going on with his pipeline to Meltzer. Johnny Ace would be too busy with the boss's sloppy seconds, and Bruce Prichard would have been at the press conference with this lips firmly attached to TK's arse.

I'm actually not surprised that in 2022 people actually believe this Larry had the door smashed in his face story

We live in a world that people believe everything Donald Trump says so of course people think this happened

I'm not sure if having Waltman, Hall & Nash holding the Executive Vice President positions in WWE back in the day would have worked any better than having the Bucks and Omega hold those titles now.

No, you're absolutely right.

I was trying to get across that, on the one hand, the fact that WWE survived wCw and went on to be the only game in the world for 20 years (and still isn't far from that) would suggest that a boys' club isn't fatal to a company.

On the other hand, taking into account what an absolute fucking roaster HBK was, all the shit that came from the Kliq, and the destruction that their attitudes wreaked on wCw, it definitely should've served as a precedent that no company should ever seek to emulate or allow.

How are the two even comparable?

I refer you to my previous post.

WWE is a disaster too, an absolute dumpster fire where workers are shat on and favourite sons get away with, well literally murder. That’s what makes it a disaster.

Yeah, but WWE wasn't being actively run by someone who didn't have a clue about the wrestling business beyond being a super-fan. As much as we hate to admit it, WWE's prolonged success is built entirely on Vince McMahon's shoulders, especially in the early days. He was and is a totally reprehensible character, but he knew how to run a wrestling company, and more importantly, how to manage the rampant egos you get in the wrestling business.

If WWE back in the day was run by someone like Tony Khan, with the likes of Waltman, Nash and Hall in actual recognised positions of power and not just dressing room leaders with sway with the boys it would have been absolute fucking carnage.

The more we see wrestling companies in the western world come and go the more it becomes obvious that unless someone has the (mostly questionable) qualities of a Vince McMahon they have little chance of really making a dent in the industry. The egos and personalities involved take a certain type of person to manage them.

Vince's success, and that of WWE didn't happen by accident. It happened because he was in charge, and because he's a thoroughly detestable scumbag who has absolutely zero scruples or morals.

I'd probably throw Dana White of the UFC into a similar category. Both guys are huge reasons for their respective companies success, but the qualities that led to that success are what make them absolute scumbags.

How many years does Tony Khan have to run a successful wrestling promotion before "he doesn't know anything about the wrestling business" ceases to be a talking point?

Just to the point where it looks, from the outside at least, like he knows what he's doing.
