Apologies if I’m missing something obvious, but I’m simply not understanding how it’s a disaster. I’ve not referenced anything on telly so I understand that’s not what David was referencing, but aside from petty backstage drama it all sounds like it’s going quite well from a business standpoint doesn’t it? For instance, it’s only been reported in the last few days that Warner Brothers want a long term deal with them. They have a successful TV show on a pretty major US network, and a billionaire backer. Apart from Tony Khan being a bit of a wet lettuce and potentially letting the boys run things a little too much, how is it a disaster?

Hey, I could be completely wrong. Maybe the current leadership structure they have will go on to become a roaring success, and the only issue was CM Punk. I guess time will tell.

However, I don't think the personalities involved will see the above playing out. We can bash WWE for its overly corporate structure and the cold, calculated way they go about business, but it works. Let's see if Tony's approach of hugging the talent and letting them run wild while he picks up the tab works long-term.

@Carbomb I'm not sure if having Waltman, Hall & Nash holding the Executive Vice President positions in WWE back in the day would have worked any better than having the Bucks and Omega hold those titles now.

As I said, I don't see the CM Punk situation being the last of this type of issue the company faces. I could be wrong, but when the people running the company have zero experience in the industry they're operating in, and the Executive Vice Presidents are basically indie wrestlers with no corporate background it's usually a recipe for disaster.

None of them are qualified to hold the positions they have.

I know Tony's old man has a ton of cash, and he'll finance it for as long as his boy is happy, but it's also worth remembering that rich people don't get to that position by spending their money in a foolish fashion.

It'll be fun while it lasts though!

Punk thinking that Hangman Page of all fucking people might shoot on him in a match is proof all of this is either complete bollocks or lies/delusions Punk is feeding the wrestling media (that he chastised during the gripebomb for spreading false news).

Can't wait for this to be over.

Marvellous. I thought Big Phil was a genuine hard MMA Johnny Concrete so would have no problem taking out someone who wears Dolly Parton shirts.

The door being booted In was dismissed by everyone about a week after the event. This leaking just as the elite video aired seems more like a 3rd party telling a story they heard. It’s not like Punk has any friends left to be in his camp

I imagine, by "Punk's camp", Nick Hausman means he reached directly out to Punk, and received a statement from whoever represents him. Punk has already shown (remember that press conference?) that he can be pretty keen to get his side of the story out there.

I'm unsure as to why some are so quick to dismiss this version of events. It seems a very plausible explanation for why things escalated, and it doesn't make Omega and The Bucks look bad; while seemingly backing up the idea (and explaining why) that Punk - furious at what happened to his dog - was the aggressor. It would also go some way towards explaining why Punk might have enough leverage for AEW to want to buy out his contract.

It's very unfortunate, and a real shame for poor Larry, but it seems pretty plausible.

It also seems pretty plausible that Punk would be totally incapable of taking a step back and looking at it rationally in hindsight, but that's a separate matter.

I think people are dismissing it because reports from Punk's camp weeks ago backtracked and said that their actually wasn't any doors being kicked open. Also a bit convenient that after publicly challenging them to a fight at a press conference oh no wait actually the Bucks hurt his dog and instigated him into a fight and it was all their fault poor CM Punk the victim once again. Why would Punk's camp leak this key info to the press now rather than at the time? I'm sure it has nothing to do with The Elite returning to TV, oh no absolutely not.

He’s fully committed to the Bret Hart tribute act isn’t he?

Nah, he's a BJJ guy. A lot of the time you'll find those dudes aren't cut from the same cloth as the typical MMA hardman.

If you've watched every episode of Dark Side of The Ring, you'll come to the conclusion that wrestling in whole is a disaster

It is.

The reason why was in the quote you made. Either they lied at the start, or they are lying now. Or it’s some random side character saying he’s on Punks side with a made up “oh I heard” story. That the bucks took HR and Talent relations with them doesn’t in any way suggest they were booting doors. Claiming so after the fact is an attempt to try and make a “poor me” narrative for a guy who was clearly acting on anger from press conference on

Why doesn’t it? Did the HR and talent relations guy have a load of experience in the field of HR or was he one of the boys who also got suspended.
