People think England was united in deflation after the Euro 2020 Cup Final loss. That had nothing compared to us waiting for this song to finally be released, popping to Our Price on the way home from school, having to pay £3.99 for the CD single on release day (almost unheard of at the time), rushing home to play it and after hearing the sample from the Levi advert starting to slow down, it was replaced with some slowed down crap cod rock sung by a posh twat. The disappointment was real for people across the UK.

It was the weirdest fucking thing; Jas Mann was hyped as the next big thing on the basis of that one track, with a whole load of media speculation as to what he was going to do next for the follow-up album, not to mention the pretentious, wanky interviews he did for the music mags of the day. He then went and did fuck-all after that. Has anyone ever been as over-hyped following a debut single as he was?

TIL that song does that. Despite growing up in the 90s I must have either only ever heard the start or forgot entirely the rest of the song.

Without wanting to derail another thread with more RHCP chat, “Give it away” starts amazingly and then it’s 4 hours of very dull sprechgesang.

That's the remix. The original version and video is just slow all the way through, then there's the remix where it's fast at the start, then goes to regular speed and then speeds up again at the end,
