He's somehow combined "Let's chew the fat" and "Shoot the shit" into "Let's chew the shit", which is just a lot less pleasant. He also told his audience to "buckle down" the other day. One of the guys who follows him keeps a book going of all of his "gems". Quote

I had no idea that he was supposed to be called King Mystery in English and I assumed that Rey was just a Spanish version of the name Ray. I fully believed this man was really called Raymond Mysterio. Quote

His masks back in the 90s often had a crown on them in reference to this: I thought it was a nice touch that when he wasn’t able to use his cross mask in Saudi Arabia he went back to the little crown: I also like the idea of AAA running the Raymond of Raymonds PPV to find the best Ray of them all. So when I heard a random Radio 4 piece about the Paw Patrol movie that came out a few years ago, I immediately thought it was about a troll who had no money. He lost his mask as Rey Misterio Jr, and that was the mask with the crown. The commissions take a dim view on wrestlers who lost their mask in an apuesta match just putting it back on permanently, and WWE wanted him remasked. When Rey had not long been with WWE, there was a bit of a minor fuss around whether audiences would accept him wrestling under a mask again when they did a Mexican house show - obviously they did and it amounted to nothing. But because Vince McMahon hated the word "Jr", Rey wasn't going to be Rey Misterio Jr again, he was going to be Rey Mysterio. Different spelling, different name entirely. Which counts as a new character, and he can get a new mask for that - it just can't be the same design as Rey Misterio Jr. So just swap the crown out for a cross, job's a good'un, this is basically a whole new guy!
