These picks were between 5 and 10 hours late, and you still managed to get one result and most of the scores wrong! How many more years will it take for you to grasp the concept of earlier starts for football at Easter?

As for @Shy Dad – 3pm on the dot is fine since you wouldn't really have any idea how those matches are going to go if they only kicked off (at best) seconds before you posted, just don't make a habit of it.

Anyway, the final scores went into the opening post yesterday morning, and the table was figured out by lunchtime. I'm slacking, I know. Since this update required twice the level of concentration as usual, do double check your score and let me know if you think anything's inaccurate there.

Even by the standards of this type of special round, scoring was on the high side. Since everything is doubled, I would've needed 8 exact scores for everyone else to get 2 bonus points, but we weren't even close to that happening. There's now a tie for second place again, and ultimo slips a spot to fall behind Shy Dad, whilst Rory is now just 14 points adrift at the bottom. MVP RULZ was the worst performer among those who picked on time, albeit still in double figures.

Why the high scores, then? Well, wins for (*deep breath*) Leeds, Man City, Derby, Millwall, Pompey, Cambridge Utd, Orient, Motherwell, Bournemouth, Blackpool, Shrewsbury, Port Vale and Hibs all proved fruitful, as did a stalemate at Accrington alongside a score draw at St James's. Of note among that set of outcomes: the match at Harrogate Town was the first in the top 4 divisions of English men's football to be refereed by a woman, which I didn't know was going to be the case when I selected it. A third particular mention of the day to Shy Dad, who was the only person to get the Formartine scoreline spot on!

So which five results didn't bring so much joy? Victories for Caley Thistle, West Ham, Newport County and Aldershot produced a bit of a mixed bag, whereas another bad reverse for Swansea caught everybody out, making it a dud.

A regular set of 10 with no gimmicks or Friday matches will be up in the first post shortly.
