To be fair, the "rubbish build up but cracking PPV" thing is usually taken by AEW quite often, and it's something I've often had issue with.

I definitely enjoy the hype and the build up and expect the PPV to be the crescendo of that.

I suppose the rare occasions are the Rumble which very much sells itself for me, and Mania which is Mania, so I'm not too bothered right now. Obviously a little more hype along the way would enhance the experience..

I appreciate I have no credibility on the matter as i'm fully anti-Dwayne, but I think his involvement in the Cena turn is aging worst and worst every day.

If you imagine in your mind that segment without his involvement; Cena wins, Cody comes out to congratulate him, Cody raises Cena's hand and... wallop a kick in the plums. How dare you patronise Mr Make-A-Wish by YOU raising HIS hand, the way he's done to people for years and years?

That is a perfect heel turn. The aging former main attraction turning on the guy who's taken his spot. It's perfect, and the promo that followed would have made a tonne more sense. As beneath all the 'toxic relationship' bluster, you'd know the balding former star is jealous and terrified his days are over.

But you add in the soul cobblers, and the way Cena was seemingly activated like some sort of sleeper agent in jorts, Travis Scott being a plonker... and actually it was just flabby excess shite the segment didn't need.

I wouldn’t be too confident of The Rock fucking back off. They’re still showing him doing that ‘smell ya mum’ finger thing on every video package.

I don't think anyone actually thinks for a second that we'd be lucky enough for him to fuck off and leave everyone else to it. Unless we're lucky enough that Disney schedules some Moana reshoots or something.

I reserve the right to welcome The Rock back as a weekly character if he switches his catchphrase to, “if ya smelllllllllalalalala…ya mum.”

All pro-wrestling would be improved if more lads used stupid high school language.

I remember reading a while back that the original plan was for The Rock to wrestle in some capacity (I think against Cody) but he had Moana reshoots scheduled for that weekend so can't do it. 

Maybe thats why they're not mentioning him in this feud now - as he can't be part of it anymore due to being away filming.

You remember correctly. Rock wanted to wrestle Cody at 41 and save the eventual meeting with Roman for 42.

Friendly reminder, they originally pitched Dwayne wrestling his cousin at 38 but he wanted to delay until 39 so he could do it "in Hollywood." I'm not sure that match will actually ever happen at this rate.

I don't even think it's that. Take Cena off the card and it's looking like a total B-Show. I've completely checked out of the weekly TV over the past few weeks, I don't know how they've fucked this up so badly.
