I don’t mind that for this show, but I’d hate for it to be a permanent thing. I don’t think it will be though, Triple H has already said Smackdown will return to being a 2-hour show (link to F4W), so I’m hoping he sees the benefit of - for the most part - a shorter show. DavidB6937 Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 It's mad to think we've got so much shit going on that I forgot about Penta. We're gonna be damn spoilt tonight! Wish I could stay up but work tomorrow so maybe I'll try and watch some on the train before work. Quote
NeverYield Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 That's the exact jam I'm in, I'd love to stay up and watch it, and am very tempted to do so, but I just can't do late nights anymore, and a building site in January is dismal in the morning as it is without lack of sleep. Quote

Get CM Punk to announce himself for next years Royal Rumble and Brian Gerwitz to give Davey numbers a new joke.Or if you want a serious answer, Spoiler some fun matches. If Penta does indeed debut I’d love to see how they let him go. My problem with their current product (outside of the reasons I stopped financially supporting them) is that outside of anything involving Gunther, I find the matches incredibly dull and the storylines mostly boring. The Bloodline should have ended at Mania, and even that felt too long from when it was must see stuff. I’m interested in KO’s story and want to see what they have planned for Drew. And not that I’m a fan, but Cena’s retirement run has me interested as to what they are planning for him. I think we’re too early for any big Mania stories to start before this years RR which is when they usually hook me if they do. But it’s going to be a spectacle, and for that alone it will be worth seeing live and I hope the WWE fans enjoy it, and if they do, they’ve achieved their goal. If they win back some casuals or lapsed fans, they have over delivered. I have friends who are either lapsed fans of WWE or wrestling in general who are going to be watching it now it’s on Netflix, so it’s a big show. Quote
Paid Members Kamran Posted January 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 6, 2025 I can remember in the early days of Dynamite when you could go some weeks without a single post in the Raw thread....it still amazes me how big of a turnaround they've had. This will be the first full episode of Raw I've watched in years. I've kept up with the PLEs but I do enjoy the AEW PPVs more but I don't know how much of that is due to keeping with the weekly AEW shows and not the WWE shows. With WWE on Netflix it's going to be a lot easier to watch and it's perfect time with WrestleMania season about to begin. I'm really looking forward to what they do with Penta tonight, I think he could do really well for them plus will be interesting to see what they do with all the big names set to appear. This is the most excited I've been for a WWE show in a long time. Quote
Chili Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 Not watching, but I'll give YouTube a look to see if they did anything fancy. I'm not following the angles much at all so none of them really matter, but I hope it's a really good show to be honest. They're extremely good at being the market leader and a first chapter of something eventful, and the Netflix deal is the biggest they'll have for a long time in that regard. Thank goodness Tony Khan wasn't thick as mince enough to move to Monday's. Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted January 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 6, 2025 Yep, also very excited about the Penta debut. The entrance alone with the might of WWE production behind it should be bloody brilliant. Quote
TheAdder Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 I’ve been very long lapsed and having had a bereavement recently am looking for some escapism. Netflix is just so much more accessible than Sky or BT Sports were. I enjoyed the video package too. Lots of moments I remember from the beginning of this place in the nineties! Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted January 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 6, 2025 Wow, TheAdder outta nowhere! You know big things are happening in pro wrasslin' when the real OG UKFFers make their shocking return. I assume you're going to hug Moo and then Junkman will run in and hit you both with a chair to swerve us all. Quote
lars85 Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 I had the network. But it wasn't the easiest to navigate. Been trying to catch up now it's on Netflix. Looking forward to tonight, seems like a fresh start and I'm hoping to get my nephew into wwe. Just wondering, is it canon that Solo Sikoa is Jey and Jimmy Usos brother? Or has it not been mentioned? Just trying to get caught up. Quote

Paid Members JLM Posted January 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 6, 2025 (edited) Definitely canon. Referenced frequently and they've used it to ramp up the bloodline melodrama, with Solo being extra dastardly for attacking his own brothers and choosing Roman over them in the past, or Jimmy/Jey trying to get him to turn babyface and appealing to him as his brothers. There have been occasions of both sides being hesitant/reluctant to attack each other, or conversely saying "you're my brother but I will still whoop your ass" depending on the situation too. TheScarlettChad Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 One thing that is canon, that they haven't referenced is, The fact Roman named Solo "The Tribal Prince" Quote
Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted January 7, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted January 7, 2025 Good show, that. Nothing earth-shattering, but ticked most boxes. Big Dwayne doing his bit without committing to a feud makes sense - it’s there if it really has to happen, but they’ve not started anything that has to end at Mania. I hope it doesn’t because Roman/Punk could be incredible with Heyman in the mix. I love that Rock’s glasses probably cost twenty grand yet looked like Jack Duckworth had repaired them, but I’m not exactly a fan of them suggesting his drink driving. Swig your own tequila then get off in your big car? Sound. Fun opener and great to see KO insert himself. I’d like him to just get involved in every major angle because he’s mental, right, and the best thing going in that promotion right now. Xavier Woods wearing Jimmy Corkhill’s jacket was a lovely tribute and every time the announce team said ‘Rhea bloody Ripley’, I just heard Jay from The Inbetweeners showing his ID. Topanga turning up got the biggest pop in my spare room with the cats and Alicia Warrington did a sterling job on the mic. A really good turn from her, under what was no doubt immense pressure. Glad Liv Morgan lost because her frog splash is crap and we need something new for Noel Fielding to do now she’s won the belt and Bake Off has finished. Drew McIntyre is just great, isn’t he? I kind of feel sorry for him being consistently brilliant when he’s not quite going to be the main man, given the others on the roster. He’s got the lot but there’s hopefully time to give him another run with one of the belts and ride the tide. Having him lose to Jey and his Argos necklace was rubbish. Hogan getting booed was BRILLIANT. Mad old dickhead had that coming and him walking off with his top hanging around his arse put the top hat on it. Smashing main event. Rollins put the shift in. Not a fan, but he did the work in that one. His first GTS on Punk was top drawer whereas Punk’s stomp looked like he’d seen a mouse in the kitchen. But a really fun scrap to end the show. I’ve got a Teams meeting at half eight. As if I can be arsed with that. Quote
