I don’t know if I’d agree with IGN that it’s a 10/10 game, but it’s definitely another Capcom banger from my perspective. It’s not beating my current GOTY, Pragmata, but I think I enjoy it more than Requiem. I’m playing on Switch 2 though, so maybe it’s one of those games that just feels better on a handheld, I dunno. Yea I’d give it a 7 at best currently with me being 50% through the game, fuck every single boss having 2 phases as well. Quote

I can see why that might bother you, but I dunno, much as Pragmata before it, I’m just finding it fun. It’s not a Souls-like, so that in itself makes it feel novel in 2026 and maybe that’s all I’ve been needing without even realising it! Quote
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted September 9 Awards Moderator Posted September 9 The excellent Kim Justice has released a compilation of their other GTA videos into a 3 hour epic. An excellent one to have in the background while you 'work'. Quote
TildeGuy~! Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 Finished up Onimusha, still a 7 for me, for anyone looking to buy it, if you don’t master the parry system, you will DIE ALOT against bosses. Was gonna pick up Wolverine this week but after hearing the terrible reviews, I might just wait till it drops to like £20, I’ve got Date Everything loaded up on PS Plus so that’ll be my next playthrough. Ironic Indie Lad Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Ghost of Tsushima was my favourite game of the entire PS4 generation. Maybe it was due in part to coming out during Covid, but it is one of the few games where I completed every side quest and still felt like I wanted more. I played it again including the Iki Island DLC when the Directors Cut launched on the PS5. For whatever reason, the sequel just passed me by. I have banged on about it before, but from August 2023 until recently I just did not have that much time for video games. I also felt fatigued by modern AAA games in general. I am in a good spot now with childcare, sleep pattern etc. Finally at a point where it reaches the end of the day, my dogs are walked, my daughter is asleep, my house is tidy and I actually have the time and energy to put real time into games. I finally purchased Ghost of Yotei around 5 weeks ago. 40+ hours later and I have finished the game. I think it is one of the best games I have ever played. Lets get the video game-y bits out of the way first. The open world is perhaps even more beautiful and vibrant than in Tsushima. It is absolutely stunning to look at. While in GoT, Jin Sakai has different stances for different enemy types, Atsu has different weapons. Its a rock/paper/scissors type thing so you are constantly changing up what you are using when fighting numerous enemies at once and it keeps it interesting. Combat is never dull and stealth is never forced. I was finding I could clear out entire areas with assassinations or equally I could go in guns blazing. There's a good amount of freedom. As with all games of this type, there's a hell of a lot of customisation and upgrading to do and this is all done in a very satisfying way. Where this game truly shines is the story. I wont go into a plot summary here or spoilers but I thought this was just a simple tale of revenge. It unfolds into so much more and deals with identify, grief, letting go, parental relationships, the end of childhood. Some of the characters are so strong and there are twists in the story I genuinely didn't see coming and found genuinely moving. A masterpiece. Quote
Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz Posted September 15 Posted September 15 (edited) Spider-Man Miles Morales (PS5) really enjoyed and thought it was better than Spider-Man 2. I have finished the main story, now onto the a few of side missions that I have left. I had a spare 30 minutes at work yesterday, due to one of the systems being down and I found an app that lets you compile a backlog of games that you own (or have available by other means)… I have added 71 games, and I still have more to add Edited September 15 by Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted September 15 Paid Members Posted September 15 still completely addicted to Vampire Survivors, it just gets madder and weirder and throws new stuff at you right when you think you're figuring it out. A magic game. But also delving into some other PS Plus stuff, as I've been taking a break from big story-heavy games and dabbling with other stuff. Getting to a point in Coral Island where I don't feel like there's much else to do. It's a Stardew Valley knock-off, with a couple of ideas of its own, but mostly it knows exactly what it's emulating. An easy time killer, but I don't know how much longer I will keep plugging away at it. Sniper Elite Resistance is an interesting one. I'm enjoying it, though it's a bit repetitive, and I doubt I'll touch it once I'm done with the campaign mode. All I had seen of these games was the slo-mo X-ray deaths, and an "Audience Vs." stand-up show I went to, where they had people playing the DLC levels where you have to try and assassinate Hitler. So I kind of assumed, given those things and it being called Sniper, that pretty much the entire game would be finding ways to snipe people from a distance. There's a lot more walking about and climbing things than I expected, and I usually end up doing a fair amount of melee kills. It's fine. Two Point Museum is brilliant. My favourite of the series, probably. Two Point Hospital was good, but intentionally a love letter to Theme Hospital, so it wasn't really doing anything new. Two Point Campus never really worked - it used too many of the gameplay mechanics of Hospital, without doing a good enough job of making them fit the new setting, and too often getting the next star on a level relied on something like "increase your decoration rating to 4.0", and you end up just plastering every single wall with posters and rugs on every bit of floor to grind up that rating, or else you're just sat waiting for a number to arbitrarily go up enough to win a level, and that was no fun. Museum manages to keep the building blocks of a Two Point game so it feels familiar, but the way it's fit to the museum concept has had a lot more thought put into it, and each level feels sufficiently different in terms of what you're having to achieve, rather than it just being the same basic concept with a different skin on it. Definitely makes me more optimistic about whatever future Two Point games are in store. Quote

I'm assuming Resistance is closer to 5 which felt like a Splinter Cell game set during WW2 more than anything. Quote
Paid Members Scratch Posted September 15 Paid Members Posted September 15 I picked up Planet Coaster 2 on Steam and it runs really well on the Rog Ally X. I’ve been having loads of fun making my own coasters, and getting really detailed with the theming and scenery. My only problem is that all my coasters are too frightening and cause too much sickness, that nobody will ride them. I need to figure that bit out, but it’s such a slow paced game that I can spend my time with and it’s doing a great job of relaxing me after work. Quote
Merzbow Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Bill Skarsgard is the lead in Hideo Kojima's *not* Metal Gear Solid cold war espionage game. It's wild that Sony ditched it and then seemingly minutes later Xbox are now funding it. Quote
The King Of Swing Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Did Sony pull a Square Enix and invest everything in blockchain tech and NFT's, or some other dumb shit? They seem to have completely lost the plot. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted September 18 Paid Members Posted September 18 Cracked back on with Vampire Survivors on my Switch. I like how they have a CastleVania DLC and a Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night one as well. It does feel weird seeing the Among Us weapons turning up in the normal game mode as well. Still immense fun. Big change from trying to get the Danger 5 runs done on Brotato. Quote

I really enjoyed Date Everything, but was locked out of the main ending due to a bug. Hopefully they've sorted it by now though, as it's activated if you finish one character's storyline before another - it essentially means you can't finish that other character's story because of something that happens. It's hugely annoying. As for me, I've been playing Digimon: Time Stranger on Switch 2. It's a bit darker than I expected featuring murder, alcoholism and suicide among other things - but it's a really good game, probably the best monster catching game I've played that isn't in the Pokemon series. I've also been playing The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth again on my Switch 2, and this is a game I'd tried countless times before but it just didn't click with me. The problem is, I think, I was viewing it like a Zelda game rather than a run-based game, and this is the first time I've played it post-Vampire Survivors and I fucking love it. It's super addictive, although I've died in some frustratingly random ways - I was very, very close to completing a run for the first time and died randomly when my character farted and exploded when I stood still for too long. I've no idea what caused it, but I'd picked up and decided to hold on to a mystery item which I suspect was the cause. Great game, though. Quote
