Tessitore is a fantastic announcer, and Barrett is certainly more tolerable than Graves. Whatever the case, Tessitore and Barrett were doing just fine, I don’t understand the logic in their constant announce team shifts. Wade has time off and Joe is doing football stuff. Quote

Not going to lie, I’d completely forgotten that - but that felt like a first step towards something further that was derailed by the Owens injury. They struggle to resist an Orton heel turn, as ill-advised as it usually is. Quote
OzExile Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Cole said something like "Cena paying homage to his great rival, the former big dog" - with his spear. but there was no ooohhhaahh. I think this was a nod to Edge? Quote
DavidB6937 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 It was obviously a nod to Edge. He did the bit in the corner. And Corey basically said it was after. Quote

NeverYield Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 I thought Cena giving nods to lots of his old rivals was pretty good. Quote
d-d-d-dAz Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 This final Cena run has done a great service to future theoretical debates about wrestling. I think, without it, we'd have been cursed to years of people saying 'they wasted Cena, such a shame he never turned heel as he'd obviously have been a better heel.' Thankfully, we now know that absolutey isn't the case. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted September 7, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 7, 2025 He might very well have been a good heel under a different creative team. Sadly we'll never know! Quote

His performances haven't stood up, creative or otherwise. He seems so much freer, authentic and more convincing as a babyface, plus he seems capable of far better matches Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted September 7, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 7, 2025 Having them reference the US Open Challenge just made me even sadder. Imagine if he’d spent the year doing a WWE Title Open Challenge, having these daft WWE2K matches against everyone. Would’ve been wild. A million times better than all the crap, “YOU PEOPLE,” promos. On that subject, do they even have anyone in NXT they could bring up for the huge, Kevin Owens-style surprise win on his final night? Is Oba Femi the best they’ve got? Quote

Femi, Williams or Je’Von Williams are probably the three best they’ve have on the men’s side, but outside of that it’s slim pickings. It’s a shame that they’ve relegated Bron Breakker to the role of lackey, as it feels like a perfect spot for him. They’ve become weirdly bad at elevating new talent lately though, which is bizarre given how desperately their main event scene needs some kind of refresh. Quote
