According to Wrestlevotes, while they’d like to do that, it’s unlikely as NBC has NFL commitments that day. It does still sound like his last match will be on SNME though. Quote

Or this was always the plan and he’ll actually bow out at Mania 42? Has always seemed peculiar to just be like “end of 25.” Quote

The King of Old School Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 Remember a couple of months back when Sami Zayn turned down a guaranteed title shot if he moved permanently to Smackdown. Few months later, he's on Smackdown going after a title. Brilliant. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted August 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 16, 2025 “We want Kross,” chants during the Sami promo. People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. It’s genuinely impressive to have something going on where it’s equally as unappealing whether it’s a work or not. I couldn’t give less of a fuck either way. Kross should do that Cody thing where he posts a list of dream matches he can now have, only it’s a blank piece of paper because he’s absolutely shit and there isn’t a single match anyone can possibly get excited about. Handsome Tex Hardcastle Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 I fear Kross is making a bit of an arse of himself here. A handful of lukewarm chants for the under appreciated talent stiffled by internal company politics. I imagine he's sitting by the phone waiting for the Undertaker to call and talk some sense into him. The most entertaining outcome at this point is if it transpires that it is indeed a work but the reaction has been so subdued and feeble that they just don't bother bringing him back. Quote

You should see the comments under any Sami post on Instagram. People seem to really hate him. I didn't expect 'Internet turns on Sami' would be something I'd ever see, but I suspect I don't fully understand the Internet wrestling fan these days. Quote

If you mean 'face of the company' as literally (baby)face of the company then maybe the title passes from Cena to Cody, but if we're talking 'face of the company' in the more normal way then this is cobblers. Bloodline Roman was about as 'face of the company' as it gets. And then he handed the mantle to Cody as he wants that sweet 6 days a year schedule. Quote
The King of Old School Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 (edited) Fucked Jacob Fatu already haven't they. Was pleasantly surprised when he told Big Jim to keep Sami away from him backstage. Why on earth is he hugging him after the match? Edited August 17, 2025 by The King of Old School Quote
Paid Members air_raid Posted August 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 17, 2025 Diesel’d him. Turned him face then immediately started stripping away the aura that made people cheer in the first place. He shouldn’t be mates with Jimmy Uso. He shouldn’t be mates with ANYONE. They never learn. Quote

Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 Caught the last half hour or so of Smackdown on Friday as was putting Netflix on for something else. I'll admit to not watching WWE for some years but it just seemed a bit 'generic' and 'tired' if that's the right word? Quote
Paid Members RedTwoster Posted August 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 24, 2025 It kind of shows the enthusiasm for WWE on here right now when we’re two days removed from Smackdown and there’s only been one post from someone who hasn’t even seen the full show. What a turnaround from last year. I’ve not personally watched the show either. Aside from the fact that it’s been a weak year for them, the combination of Saudi Arabia, the Trump-association and Lesnar returning has utterly killed my enthusiasm for the company. If ever needed to write a dissertation on how capitalism is destroying society, they’d be the perfect case-study. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted August 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 24, 2025 (edited) R-Truth’s return to being a comedy idiot now complete, with him flying to the wrong town for laughs. Reckon there’s anyone out there who still believes this was a work from the start? The options at this point are either Hunter’s a massive, smug wanker who thinks he’s far smarter than he actually is and can never just hold his hands up, or he’s a complete hack who can’t write consistent characters or stories. Or both. The most note worthy thing about Smackdown was watching the company that brags about not reading or catering to the internet weaving it into storyline that fans feel like John Cena is wasting one of his final matches on Logan Paul. This is not 8 Mile, lads. Vocalising the criticisms yourself doesn’t save you from them. Cena should be facing guys like AJ Styles and Dirty Dom! It is a huge waste to have him wrestling Logan Paul! Imagine Cena vs. AJ Styles in Paris, considering their chemistry and history, with that crowd going crazy doing the, “phenomenal,” chant. Would have ruled. Frankly, I wish they weren’t so full of shit and this company truly didn’t read or cater to the internet. The Cena heel turn was rubbish, but ultimately I’d have still preferred them to finish that story and reach a natural conclusion rather than just throw the first half of the year away and break out the Men In Black memory eraser because it was so universally panned. It’s the worst of all the directions they could have chosen. Neither here nor there. Two half-arsed, unfocused runs, neither of which will achieve much of anything. Ten dates left! What a colossal fuck up. One of the biggest misfires of all time. Right now, they’re the worst combination of deep within the bubble, desperately reading Twitter and the sheets, completely out of ideas and yet so smug and up their own arse that they need to revel in their own horribleness. I’m convinced of it. They won’t be able to help themselves. Brock being implicated in the lawsuit will become storyline. I give it a month. Edited August 24, 2025 by Supremo Quote
