Anything will beat last year, which involved me going on a night out and getting tonsilitis after snogging the face off a stranger for two hours.

Sorry about that.

I’m doing fuck all. I love Christmas but I’m the opposite with New Years. Never been arsed with it. I’ll probably eat too many Haribos, watch shite on the telly, have my sexual advances declined by my mrs and spend the rest of the night negotiating with my son to go to sleep. Same as any typical Monday night.

The Mrs and I have watched a Will & Grace DVD (we're clearly old school). Will probably be in bed before the bells as usual and also got our toddler twins to get up with early. Like others on here I'm happy being relaxed in the house and taking it easy avoiding busy pubs and struggling to get a taxi. Back to work on the 2nd so making the most of a family day tomorrow.

Bought a load of junk food (pizza, sausage rolls etc.) and sat watching various stuff on the TV - an episode of You, the Greatest Showman, and then the American Office until about 10. Now listening to an 'Ultimate Party Classics' playlist on Spotify until about half eleven, then I'll put BBC1 on for the fireworks and stuff, bed by half twelve. Lovely.

Gonna watch that Bros documentary.

This was fantastic. I had a lot of affection for them, because they are both very earnest, sweet, idiots. Watching them argue and get wound up was like watching every sibling ever argue; small things trigger annoyance and the path is so well trod that they can't get off it once they begin down it.

So much quotable stuff, the bulldog painting comes in early but might be the highlight.

***** Happy New Year

The letters H O M E are so important because they personify the word home.

Greatest Showman and American Office have been on our watchlist tonight too.

The jigsaw defeated us. Gonna stick to 500 piece Simpsons ones from now on.

Mine and my daughter's baking went pretty much as disastrously as it does every year.

Haha. It’s the sigh noise you make after the poor lass struggles to crack the first egg.

And then the sigh noise you make after the poor lass struggles to crack the second one.

Last year she absolutely twatted it and it went everywhere. Hopefully next year she'll find the common ground.

My neighbours are having a party and have an open door for the street.  My girlfriend overheard them talking about how brilliant Christopher Nolan films are.  I'm even happier I'm not going.

I was putting something in the outside bin and there was a crowd watching the fireworks and setting off those lanterns that kill owls.  Some nice, half cut bloke came over to make conversation with me and after about a minute, he went to help someone with a lantern so I legged it back inside.

Quite happy to get my yearly quota of socialising out of the way early doors.
