It would be interesting to see how deep the BBC would go on a show like this, unless the writer has something on the Tories he's going to stick in there as well. There's no way the Beeb comes out of this well as they either skirt around the fact that they let it happen, or they lay it all bare and get savaged as a result.

I think "Jimmy Savile drama" is already making it a hard sell, to be honest. Is he going to be the lead? How much are they realistically going to try and show of "how he got away with it"?

The only way I can think of to make a show about Savile work is for him to only appear as a sort of shadowy background figure - you make the show about the people around him, more than about the man himself.

This is true, but then why have somebody like Steve Coogan as Savile if he's only going to be a minor role. They should do an adaptation of Jangle, by @Astro Hollywood

Who will play toothy bastard Esther Rantzen, doing her child line routine to get her Honours and ignoring what was right in front of her.  Cunt.

Someone with a lot of range and Ouzo I'd guess.

Alan Carr or Scarlett Johansson probably.

I wonder whether they'd cast anybody as Louis Theroux, and if so who they'd cast for that.

Kylie Minogue would be inspiring casting if she can pull of the accent. Bout time we saw her back at her first love.

Coogan doing this as a bit role isn't too shocking. He has been popping up in a few things in a cameo rather than lead, but not sure if the BBC should be the ones making this considering this all happened under their watch.
