Paid Members BigJag Posted November 4, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted November 4, 2017 Cheers for posting the link. Would I be missing much by not watching the full film?
Keith Houchen
Well, yes because it's a great film. Â This (nearly) opening scene sets up for the viewer that Harry is a maverick renegade. Â I believe you're a Star Trek fan, Jag? Â Garak is the bad guy and it utterly superb.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted November 4, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted November 4, 2017 One of the few films that I know every single bit of dialogue from. Magnum Force is great too and easily the best of the sequels.
Paid Members BigJag Posted November 4, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted November 4, 2017 I ended up watching it on Sky. He does the "Do you feel lucky Punk?" thing near the end too, it seems. I never would have twigged that the loathsome bad guy is played by the actor who did such a good job being Garak in DS9.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted November 4, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted November 4, 2017 Good actor, Andrew Robinson. He was Frank Cotton in Hellraiser and he popped up in Cobra and Child's Play 3 as well. I think he's retired now and runs the acting department at USC, last time I heard. Paid Members John Matrix Posted November 10, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted November 10, 2017 #15 [Joint] James Bond - Sean Connery and Roger Moore  So popular on the board, the UKFF's very own Bond aficionado's @Devon Malcolm and @PowerButchi have a thread dedicated to James Bond, but what do you think?  Is a tie a fitting result? Would you separate the two? Maybe you're more of a Timothy Dalton kinda guy? Discuss.

Hellraiser's one of my favourite horror films, DS9's my favourite ST series, and yet for some reason this didn't hit me at all until you just mentioned it. Weird. I didn't even recognise him as Cotton. Re-watch this evening, I think.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted November 10, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted November 10, 2017 Bit of a DS9 connection in the Hellraiser series as well, what with Terry Farrell playing the lead in Hellraiser 3.

Yep - I actually didn't bother with Hellraiser III until I heard Farrell was in it. Definitely not bothering with 4, though. Seems like it's taken a typical franchise route: if it goes on long enough, either make the main antagonist female, or set it in space. Plus it's directed by Alan Smithee. Watch now as D-Mal tells me Suzie Plakson is in Hellraiser 4.
Paid Members mim731 Posted November 10, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted November 10, 2017 Obviously they're terrible, but the later Hellraiser films are hilarious (hell-arious?). Clearly scripts written for something else with Pinhead and the Lament Configuration crow barred in.
Paid Members Carbomb Posted November 10, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted November 10, 2017 I mentioned it years ago on here, but there's a guy on eBay who makes Rubik's Cubes on which he's replaced the colour panels with the designs from the Lament Configuration Box. Paid Members BomberPat Posted November 10, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted November 10, 2017 My brother's always insisted there's a point where the Hellraiser series gets good again, but I've yet to see any evidence.
Paid Members mim731 Posted November 10, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted November 10, 2017 If you reframe it as pure comedy it does, but not as a horror franchise. That boat well and truly sailed after number 3.
