Snitsky's back acne Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 Can anybody bare watching on YouTube? What with the amount of ads the show itself has and the sheer volume of ads YouTube has it becomes an absolute chore. Hadn't even had the first match and YouTube already showed two lots of ads. Ridiculous. Quote

There's third party YouTube apps for your phone that blocks adds by default. Vanced I believe is one. Quote
Paid Members air_raid Posted May 25, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 25, 2025 So, the unexplained absence of Cody from telly since he lost the WWE title to John Cena, culminated in him returning to challenge WWE Champion John Cena to… a tag match? 1 hour ago, SpykeDudlei1 said: I’ve said it for years going back to when they brought it back in the 00s…SNME holds ZERO appeal to me in the sense that I don’t view at as the special event it was during its 80s/early 90s peak. The whole idea of it back then was you only had 4 PPVs and occasional top tier/non-squash matches on weekly TV so it had a natural appeal. Now it’s simply a name and a theme tune - with added Jesse Ventura - but with matches or a variation of that we see weekly on Raw/SD or the endless PLEs. I think the idea makes a bit of twisted sense in these minimalistic times, because those matches on TV/PLE you refer to aren’t actually happening near half as often as 3-5 years ago. This one had continuation of the big issue between Punk and Rollins, neither of whom wrestled at Backlash, and Jey Uso defending the other World title against Logan, neither of whom wrestled at Backlash, as well as resolving McIntyre vs Priest instead of doing that on Backlash or waiting until Money In The Bank. However… the “less is more” approach and wasting a main event players collision on PLE in a tag match is such an unwelcome 80s vibe in that the point is no longer to give people a taste only so they come to see a full packed card at a live show… because there aren’t any. Where the real “bang for your buck” was on the house shows most of the year, in the 20s the company seems committed to maintaining a viewership, good gates for TV and good merchandise sales through running as few shows as possible, and as little match content/as few stars as possible on each of those shows. As little bang for as much buck as they can get away with. It wouldn’t shock me at all if they try and get away with running the Royal Rumble with the two Rumbles and just one undercard match next year, so they can away with only paying 62 talents to wrestle instead of this years 66. Snitsky's back acne Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 Apparently, according to the reports I have read, Jesse Venture was going crazy that Damian Priest walked out of the cafe and won. I agree. If you hate someone as much as Priest is supposed to hate Drew why would you walk away from him? Especially if you are the babyface? It makes no sense. In other news, Zelina botching the 619 and instead just kicking Chelsea in the face, apparently breaking her nose, has to be one of the 'What the fuck?' moments in recent history doesn't it? If I was Chelsea I'd be really angry. Quote

Turning to Priest as he did and saying “See you latte.” Quote

Tennessee Moltisanti Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 I saw the finish to Cena Vs R Truth, and that was almost as hilariously shit as the finish to Cena Vs Cody. Pantomime wrestling, it's like being in the playground at school. Quote

Doog Posted May 25, 2025 Posted May 25, 2025 I get why they're doing a tag at MITB, get the big stars in, PPV sells itself with the ladder matches etc, no issue with that, I won't watch it but get why they're doing it. However, from a character standpoint with Cody, especially with him being the one issuing the challenge, it's an absolute mess and makes no sense. You were last seen losing the World Title to Cena in controversial circumstances. You make your "big" return, so naturally instead of saying you want that belt back, challenging him for the title at the next PPV or whatever, you ask for a random tag match, teaming with Jey Uso of all people who means absolutely nothing. There must've been a better way to get there. Madness. Quote
