Paid Members ElCece Posted August 22, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted August 22, 2016 Judges generally seem to be a bit conservative on 10-8's so it didn't even cross my mind at the time he could be scored that way. I havent re-watched it either mind so I could be wrong

Paid Members lambyUK Posted August 22, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted August 22, 2016 PPV goes up on FP today as per new rules doesn't it? Gonna watch it back and turn on the McGregor corner audio out of interest. Not yet watched it back but I thought the questionable decision was whether round 3 was a 10-8? Thus making it a draw. My mind was McGregor won but from what I can recall, all be it at silly o'clock, a draw was entirely plausible in my mind to, knowing what the judges can be like. Â There wasn't anything in that round to consider that a 10-8 to Diaz. For a 10-8 to occur, there has to be complete dominance, control, damage etc etc. Mcgregor had small pockets of that round and continued his offence. Â If anything, only round 1 could be even talked about to be a 10-8.
Paid Members chokeout Posted August 22, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted August 22, 2016 A 10-8 has to be as close to a stoppage and an absolute rinsing doesn't it. I know Mcgregor has said in the post fight that he thought the 1st was a 10-8 and he was dominant but it wasn't like he was knocking him down at will, he was just very smartly controlling the stand up and shutting Nate down. There wasn't anything in any of the rounds that I would give a 10-8 to Nate
Paid Members Chunk Posted August 22, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted August 22, 2016 Anyone see how stoned Nate Diaz was at the post fight presser: Â Â Anyone know what's up with the new format? What's wrong with all the fighters sitting in a line as normal?

There wasn't anything in any of the rounds that I would give a 10-8 to Nate  It wasn't a 10-8. I should have emphasised more that when I said "talked about" I meant only really in consideration.  That said, a 10-8 doesn't mean close to a stoppage at all chokeout.  As mentioned, round 1 was all Mcgregor with strikes, 2 knockdowns, and a complete shut out from Diaz in terms of his offence.  Only that round could even be considered 10-8.  Here's the UFC's take on a 10-8 round:-  1)a round is to be scored as a 10-8 round when a contestant overwhelmingly dominates by striking or grappling in a round.  These are the new unified rules but I've no idea if these are now in play? Furthermore the new 10-7 rule.   Regarding your question above chunk, the T mobile arena doesn't have a media area big enough for the standard post fight pressers. Only 1 on 1's.  At UFC 200 the UFC had to make a tent but apparently it was terrible from a logistics perspective.
Paid Members Supremo Posted August 22, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted August 22, 2016 A 10-8 has to be as close to a stoppage and an absolute rinsing doesn't it.The new rules state that a round should be judged on damage, duration and dominance. If two of those characteristics are present in a round, a 10-8 should be considered. If all three of them are present, then the round should be a 10-8. What's wrong with all the fighters sitting in a line as normal? Nate was on the CPD oil. Â I prefer the new format. Actually means people get asked questions rather than just sat there for half hour being ignored whilst the main event fighters get bombarded. A bit like the old fighter scrums we used to get regularly.
