Really enjoy these episodes and enjoyed recapping the WCW reboot Nitro in their recent podcast

Midnight Zeus Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I'm sure it's already been discussed but I had the misfortune to download a couple of the Taz podcast episodes yesterday, and wow, it's so bad. First episode I listened to was the Top 10 Current, and this is at the time when Taz was still with TNA I assume, as he has no Cena or Lesnar, but Bram at 6 and Roode at 1. Now Roode is decent enough, but no Cena in his top 10, nor Lesnar? What a stooge! Then I went on to their best 10 ever, which I am yet to finish, and one of their parameters is how they would fair in today's environment - huh? So on this basis Billy Robinson and Bruno Sammartino get some negative feedback, while Taz goes onto downplay Andre due to his lack of promos and in ring ability. How can someone who's been in the industry for so long miss the point of pro wrestling in such alarming fashion? I'll finish this episode, just to cringe when Taz names someone like EC3 as #1 all time, but after that I'm done - just awful.

I do agree with your criticism of their thought process and selections, but how can you not love the pure banter between Taz, Producer Seth and "Professor Vegas"? Such 2 different people but it was a blast & very enjoyable. Ric is just great fun - funny bastard. Liked the Co-host too, which was a bonus. Well researched and knows when to STFU, unlike Alice Radley.

Flair's story of Abyss telling Foley and Flair "dont use the thumbtacks, that's my gimmick" before their match in 2010 was funny for Flair's reaction to it.

Flair is worse than Jericho in regards of talking about himself for ages, but you don't mind because it's Ric Flair doing it and his stories are usually ace. Every episode is worth a listen, but I really enjoyed the Steamboat one.

Assumed it'd be like Pipers - a mess with some lunatic spouting bullshit. But Flair is perfect here. He's still got the charisma of Ric Flair, but is calm enough to talk well & has great stories. Nicely surprised, because now I can listen to the back catalogue! Flair is worse than Jericho in regards of talking about himself for ages Yeah, but he has more charm about him (whereas Jericho is obnoxious) & he was the best in the world and probably the top 3 of all time - Jericho thinks he's better than he is/was - he's delusional, so it's more irritating.

I imagined it to be similar to Piper's but I suppose I wasn't being entirely fair to Flair by putting him in the same bracket of looney old men as Roddy.
