I saw a right dog of a match between Smiley and Konnan the other night. When wasn't Konnan a shit wrestler? I'm going for never.

When he was a huge star in Mexico? That's a fact I can't actually believe is true. Maybe AAA has a ton of blind fans? Or maybe it was Paul Diamond under a mask?

Konnan's always been shit from what I've seen of him. He's always had Meltzer and Mike Tenay (when Tenay had a lot of stroke in the sheets) as his mates that never buried him to the level he should have been. He could barely do a thing when he was in the US. All his offense was gimmicky as fuck to hide how little he could do, like the back heel to the gut which usually connected with the balls and the rolling clothesline which was never well timed or the throwing a shoe at his opponent (?). He was excellent on the microphone in TNA, though. He got some amazing heat on those 2006 episodes of Impact.

He's talking about doing a comeback, which I can only imagine what that will be like 2 hips and a kidney later.

Yeah, that's clearly a bullshit myth, like Albert magically having been good in Japan only to suddenly turn shit again when he came back to WWE.

Edit: that was in response to Rick. Agree that he was a great manager in TNA, and exactly what those guys needed at the time.

his rolling clothesline was the same as Kidman's Shooting Star, in that it was a trademark move that was never executed correctly ever. Disco Inferno did the rolling clothesline better the handful of times he did it in his feud with Konnan (something about a music video?) in 99

Or, you know, he was booked well by a highly acclaimed Booker and charismatic enough to overcome his short comings in the ring

Edit: I'm not defending Konnan nor calling him great but given the way he was booked, the charisma he's shown in quite a few places including wcw and tna and the fact that it was arguably a simpler time when he was a big star in Mexico means that it's not insane.

Not sure if anyone cares to have a look through this but I found it interesting, I didn't know a lot of them....
