Ditto. I imagine the UFC probably were planning on Werdum v Cain 2, but it's come out recently that Cain's recovery from his surgery is taking much longer than expected, so they've made this match up, with the winner getting Stipe in the colder months of the year.

The whole Cain thing is fucking shit, isn't it? When you think of just how much time he's had to spend on the bench the last few years it's staggering. He's considered arguably the best heavyweight ever as it is. Imagine where his legacy might be now if he'd been able to stay healthy this whole time? He'd probably have double the fights on his record, seriously. He'd probably be about 6-1 over JDS by now as well. And likely would've added Overeem to his resume, maybe Hunt, maybe Werdum in a rematch and possibly  even Miocic as well. Providing nobody ended his run (which, with heavyweights you never know), he could be cemented by now as the heavyweight GOAT with the world clamouring for the superfight with Jon Jones or even a Ryu vs Ken buddy fight with Cormier.

I know a lot of his physical breakdown is likely down to him training like a lunatic. But it's still a shame to see a guy who's that good, constantly out injured during what should be the prime years of his career.

This isn't even taking into consideration the money he must've missed out on due to his time out of the cage. Just cack on all fronts.

Since you mention it, it's infuriating the universe has robbed us of prime Cain v prime Jones for the "best ever" title. Imagine that fight coming out of Jones beating DC.

As things stand, Cain's lucky to manage a fight a year and Jones can't help himself. Even if the fight happened next year, it's unlikely both are what they could have been with all that time outside the cage.

I suppose the one positive of Cain training like a maniac/tit is it's allowed the heavyweight division to grow and develop. I remember after Cain mauled JDS for the 2nd time, we were all wondering if we were getting Big Foot and JDS rematches until the end of time.

I always say the best part of TUF is the reality side of things, the actual fights are the parts that interest me the least. I think we're at a point where we need less fights rather than more...that said, im willing to give it a go.

I think it is clearly the replacement for TUF when their next TV deal comes up, having it be Dana White fights means fighters can have sponsors.

This will be like Tuesday Night Fights that aired on USA Network in the 90's that Dana was a big fan of or Friday night Fights that ended last year on ESPN.

The TUF gym is a weird location, if it gets picked up for TV, I expect them to run a lot of shows out of The Palms casino resort that the Fertittas now own. Golden Boy has a version  on ESPN 2 and PBC has one on FS1, it's a decent way to bring in new young fighters and they usually do about 200,000, which is decent for midweek fights.

Bisping said on his podcast the GSP fight being cancelled was news to him. That no one from the UFC have contacted him about it since Dana's comments. He has called GSP who still thinks it's on. Also that his knee is still in bad shape and he won't be able to fight anytime soon. So fuck knows whats happening there.

Bisping is doing all he can to avoid Yoel Romero, because he knows he'll get his arse handed to him. I imagine he'll drag out his knee injury until they either sort out an interim title fight and make Romero fight someone else, or they give him the money fight against the small welterweight that he wants.

David's back.

Another way to spin it is that Bisping is doing his best to avoid losing out on the biggest pay day of his (nearly finished) career. Pretty reasonable to me.

Who has Bisping ducked in the past?

Edit: totally missed that Gunnar Nelson is fighting Santiago Ponzinibbio. What a weird fight. I guess it just comes down to Gunnar wanting to stay active and there aren't many other options.

Here's more of the aftermath of that Cormier/Jones confrontation.

I have to admit that in the build up to UFC 200 I wasn't that bothered about the rematch, but for me it's now become an absolute must see. Easily the biggest fight of the year outside of a possible Mcgregor fight.

DC seems to riding a wave of supreme confidence and I truly believe he will beat Jones this time around.
