Loki
Cats are just pets for lonely people and people who can't be arsed having a pet. Â Cats are for people who want a companion and not a child. Outside of a bowl of food a day and a bowl of water, my cats look after themselves fine. They don't need walking, they don't shit on the carpet, they don't moan and pine if you're busy, you can leave them for a few days and they'll just get on with it. They also don't stink the way dogs do, and make everything they come into contact with stink - furniture, cars, clothes, blankets. They generally have higher levels of cleanliness than most humans. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted August 5, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 5, 2013 I don't hate cats, but they are pretty boring and unnecessary. Â For argument's sake, what is the companionship that they give you? Â Cats do smell incidentally. I guess you can't smell them because you have them. Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted August 5, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted August 5, 2013 For argument's sake, what is the companionship that they give you? Â Speaking for our Manny, he reacts like two of his favorite fictional characters have come to visit the first moment that we're both awake in the morning, and as soon as I get back. The Mrs. says that he helps her keep it together through the long, lonely period whilst she looks for a job. He also asks to be allowed up onto the bed most nights, to sit in the space between one of us and the bed head. He's also a lot of fun to play with, and generally entertains with his antics when he's awake, which tends to coincide with our sleeping patterns. Yes, the most ludicrous claim that cat owners make is that they don't smell.

Yeah, so like I said. It's a pet for someone who can't be arsed having a pet. Also for the record, cats fucking hum.

And also like what a dog does. Â It seems there's two types of cats. Fun ones that are kinda like dogs anyway, so there's no need for the antagonism and divisiveness with dog owners. Â And then you have your boring, aloof and unsociable ones, like Loki's cat. Your cat is still lke a child Loki, it's just like a surly teenager. You'll notice I didn't start it Loads of dogs are fun, but I wouldn't want one personally. I don't make any broad sweeping assumptions about dog owners though. Â My cat sounds just like Tuxedomoon's cat. She's pleased to see me when I get home, tends to want to run around the garden a bit or chase some string. If we're sitting watching tv and they happen to be in, the cats will come and sit with us, or generally pop in and out and grab a cuddle. And at night they'll sleep on the bed and share their warmth. That's what I mean by companionship. Being around and affectionate, but never needy. Â The only time I've noticed cat smell is if someone has a lit tray, so the cat is pissing in the house. Cat piss definitely stinks.
