hallicks
Nothing says "they might score runs in a pressure situation down the line" like scoring runs in a largely meaningless test, the selectors know this.
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted September 11, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted September 11, 2019 So J-Roy and Overton are the ones to pay for the loss of the Ashes. Stokes playing just as a specialist batsman because of his shoulder injury. To be honest Woakes and Curran will score as many runs as Roy would so it's not like we have actually weakened the batting.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 11, 2019 Author Paid Members Share Posted September 11, 2019 What was the point of bringing Overton in? Drop Woakes for one test and now bring him back after Overton did alright? Still, at least Curran's back now there's almost nothing to play for. Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted September 11, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted September 11, 2019 Overton took 2-107 in the match and batted a long time in the 2nd innings. You'd also figure at his height he might get some extra bounce at the Oval but never mind.
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted September 12, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted September 12, 2019 When you think England couldn't bat any worse they get torn apart by Mitch Marsh. Thank god he did a hammy we'd have been all out.

Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted September 15, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted September 15, 2019 So this happened yesterday in our local ECB Premier League play off semi final The breakdown of the 264 I'm pleased I didn't have to umpire that. A staggering score though.
Paid Members ElCece Posted September 15, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted September 15, 2019 Whapplington should of kicked on if we are being honest.....  Now that this Ashes is over there is a lot for England to reflect on but it's from an Australian perspective it's worth remembering that-  They had the greatest single series batting display in modern history England ended up missing there greatest ever bowler for all but 4 overs Australia won 4 tosses (I seem to think the toss is more important than most fans do) England have been largely dog shit. And they still only drew the series. They have plenty they can improve upon themselves

Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted December 2, 2019 Author Paid Members Share Posted December 2, 2019 Thinking the crowd might not have got their money's worth here:- https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/1208800/scorecard/1208804/nepal-women-vs-maldives-women-1st-match-south-asian-games-womens-cricket-competition-2019-20 Shout-out to Anjali Chand for the bowling figures of 2.1-2-0-6. Almost as impressive as my first year inter-form match figures of 4-3-5-4.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted December 4, 2019 Author Paid Members Share Posted December 4, 2019 I'm so upset by this. I'm not old enough to have seen him play during his great career but he's easily one of the best and most honest sports pundits I've ever heard. I'm going to miss him so much.
