I'm  very surprised it's a theatrical release tbh and not straight to streaming as it is out in a month and I have never heard of it.

Straight to streaming? With The Rock and Captain America?

They're both box office A listers, and the other fella has won a shit load of awards.

I'd imagine it has to go to theatres as that cast will have cost them a fortune.

JK Simmons puts in the work, but he has some right old shite on his filmography.

 

I just looked at this things Wiki and apparently it was actually made for streaming on Amazon Prime but the studio are rolling the dice so who knows. Maybe it is good. I don't rate Jake Kasdan much though.

Both those two have been in rubbish straight to streaming Netflix films the last few years and both their stars seem massively on the wane. Especially Chris Evans.

I think the only straight to streaming film The Rock has done in the past five years was Red Notice, and even that went on Netflix because they paid through the absolute nose for it.

With the Moana animated sequel and the Moana live movie coming round the corner, which will be absolutely massive, I think it's probably too soon to right off The Rock at the box office.

I don't have any strong feelings about this film particularly, but I don't think you get Rock, Evans, Simmons on the cheap. It's clearly going to have some budget behind it.

I'm sure that's the film where most of the participants realised The Rock was a piece of shit because he kept no-showing or showing up hours late to set and kept pissing in bottles. The production was apparently an absolute nightmare that went way over budget purely because of The Rock.

I don't doubt it has money behind it. My point was the poster to me looks like the straight to streaming rubbish all 4 of the actors on it have already done. The bottom half of that poster looks like a bloody AI image.

The money lobbed at it is what will require it to be a theatrical release, though.

Agree on the general poster vibe. I reckon AI must be very common on these things though. Got to be cheaper than hiring a reindeer, anyway.
