It was Seth Rollins. He wasn't booking Austin or The Rock and The Undertaker to cry and act afraid. It was Seth Rollins. I would have been more offended if he booked Seth to look like a tough guy who stood up to The Fiend, personally. It would have been stretching credulity, to say the least. Quote
CavemanLynn Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) Vince always seemed to have a respect for those who came up from around the territory days or with those legendary family connections. He also seemed to respect or even want pushback, for talent to confront him on booking based on what they thought they were worth. To me, there's a clear distinction between how he treated the talent before and after the Ruthless Aggression (ugh) era onwards. There's no way Taker and Austin botch a finish and Vince stomps out there to scold them in front of all the paying customers like Cena and Batista. I think that change in regard of his talent directly informed his behaviour. They weren't even employees, just toys. WWE is the draw, not the people in the ring. He booked dross because he knew they'd do it and he'd make money regardless. Edited April 16 by CavemanLynn Quote
TheScarlettChad Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I would say it was also lack of a rival promotion, but then again, when AEW showed up, 2019 was the worst year of that company apart from last year in recent memory. Just utter unwatchable dross. He must have thought he was untouchable. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted April 17 Paid Members Posted April 17 (edited) Read an interview today with Nick Khan explaining that they sat down after last year’s Wrestlemania and decided they needed young, fresh talent. He explained this is the reason behind the main roster pushes of Trick Williams, Oba Femi & Je'Von Evans. Seems to be completely at odds with Triple H saying they had no back up to stars like Cody, Punk and Roman. Can’t imagine why Triple H wouldn’t see those three lads as future superstars. Nothing I could possibly suggest. Anyway, here’s a clip of the next season of Unreal, with Triple H having to force himself to finally write some pay per view victories for black wrestlers. Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 19 Author Paid Members Posted April 19 why do they keep filming this poor man. He was just trying to relax in his leather jacket. Just leave the poor humble soul alone. Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted April 19 Paid Members Posted April 19 “OK cool, that’s my going-from-squatting-to-standing speed locked in, what about the match?” “Ugh, what a fuckin’ nerd. I dunno, fill five minutes until the run-ins and then it’s over I guess. Ka-bang.” Also it saddens me that they used her good theme song in rehearsal and her shit one on the night. Quote
Paid Members Lenin Posted April 20 Paid Members Posted April 20 This is a dark time. Hours after the biggest event of the year, we appear to be in a completely old era. What's going on? Where is the Humble Hunter? Where is the post-lukewarm PPV "new era" declaration? This is akin to getting to the end of March, waking up, only to find out he clocks haven't gone forward. Good grief. Unchartered territory. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted April 20 Posted April 20 I was expecting 10 appearances at Mania and he didnt even come out once! I almost feel cheated. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted April 28 Paid Members Posted April 28 (edited) Pumped the brakes on a wrestler wearing an eye-patch. Triple H truly the worst of the worst. Poor Cody. I bet he had the full Metal Gear Solid cosplay in his bag. Edited April 28 by Supremo Quote
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted April 28 Paid Members Posted April 28 I'm actually on Triple Helmsley's side on that one. An eye patch feels more like a heel accessory to me, like you're milking it a bit wearing one of those. Plus you look daft if you're not a pirate. A babyface should be showing off his battle scars, better for garnering sympathy and showing toughness. Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted April 28 Paid Members Posted April 28 Cody's instincts are absolutely terrible. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted April 28 Paid Members Posted April 28 You’ve all lost your minds. Why even employ Cody Rhodes if you’re going to restrict him from making himself look daft?! That’s his USP! Quote
