How on earth have you not seen the first Nitro? Ok then I have seen him, but I couldn't name a particular match of his Quote
TheScarlettChad Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Sean O'Haire. Great look, amazing moonsault, "Indie wank cred" for his promos and a banger theme, all combined to make me think that WWE wasted him, I don't think I've ever seen a full match of his, Just clips from his titantron and various spots in Movez videos. Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 12 Paid Members Posted February 12 Another one: Atsushi Onita. Think I saw a couple of his deathmatches years after I first heard of him, but the fucker comes to the ring in a leather jacket and smokes without giving a fuck. Quote
Paid Members air_raid Posted February 12 Paid Members Posted February 12 Basically anyone that worked New Japan in the 90s was obviously brilliant according to mags so long before I got into tape trading in 2002 I knew either Koji Kanemoto or Shinjiro Otani were the best wrestler alive. If it wasn’t Kawada, Kobashi or Musawa, obviously. Quote
Paid Members garynysmon Posted February 13 Paid Members Posted February 13 (edited) I don't think I'm alone in saying Sabu, as he seemed to be the coolest fucker in the world in 1994-95, when I'd only seen him in magazines. I don't think I saw him at all until he popped up on Raw in early 96? On the flipside, I've never seen a Dominik Mysterio match nor promo, but anyone who chooses to adopt a look like that, ironically or not, is a fucking berk. Yet to see anything he's done but he's got X-Pac heat in my house. Edited February 13 by garynysmon Quote

Then I watched his match at Halloween Havoc (which seems as strange now as it did then) and had a complete re-think. A few months later I did get to see more of his early ECW stuff through tape traders but I had lost my keenness for him by then. Quote

Paid Members LaGoosh Posted February 13 Paid Members Posted February 13 I always assumed The Great Sasuke was one of the best wrestlers alive because he was a motherfucking ninja and he was great fun to play as on WCW/nWo World Tour. Didn't see him til probably 15 years later and yeah turns out he is really bloody good! To tie it into the above post his match with Jushin Thunder Lyger (the one with the brilliant "botch") is one of my favourite matches of all time. He also beat up the Dirt Bike Kid for real in a match because he was such an arrogant knob. Quote
Browser Brady Posted February 13 Posted February 13 In 1995 I told my mates that the best wrestler in the world doesn’t wrestle in the WWF or WCW……..he wrestles in Japan and his name is ………..Chris Bennett. You can imagine my surprise when i finally heard it pronounced as Benoit. Quote

According to a quick Google he was a guy called Luc Poirier, a (billed at) 6ft 5 Canadian who is probably best known as Sniper in The Truth Commission in WWF, but also went by various other names including Rocky Montana, which I also think is great!
