I know there's no new series ongoing currently but:-

1) I don't understand why we don't have a thread for it already

2) I just wanted to remind everyone of Mawaan Rizwan doing the egg task:-

Just finished the Bob Mortimer series in my annual rewatch. I just love that man. And Sally Phillips is just so gloriously horny and unhinged.

While I'd never commit to a favourite task ever, the Rosalind songs has to be up there.

Funnily enough I've just started catching up with this since taking a break in about um, 2018? S7 was my first one back in (with Jessica Knappett, James Acaster, Rhod Gilbert et al) was a pure joy, great group, one of the best. The next series though, woof, that might have been the worst. Iain Sterling bringing the bad vibes, and I really struggled with it. The format, Greg and Alex and got me in the end though and I saw it through. S9 back to form and I'm in the middle of 10 now, which is good stuff, if hampered a bit by COVID

Easily my most watched show, its an odd week when I haven't watched some.

The last 2 seasons (series Jason) have been amazing, and the upcoming one Im really giddy about.

Also CoC4, Masie Adam in a nuns outfit really woke something in me...

In the previous series it was Maisie dressed as Smee for me...

They should definitely do a series with the best contestants from the first few seasons, who only had 5 or 6 episodes, I think. These days, five episodes in and you still feel like they are getting warmed up. Dont think anyone would begrudge a second chance season with the likes of Richard Osman, Frank Skinner, Dave Gorman, Beckett, Wilkinson, etc.

I just found out

Spoiler

Kumail nanjiani

is in the next series, sweet! And I've still got the last series to watch as well at some point.

I've never watched any of the specials, only the regular series.. are they worth checking out? (Before anyone suggests watching taskmaster from other countries I'll stop you there - not interested in that).

Definately. Even though the Champion of Champions wasnt that good this year, they are all still a good watch. Not sure why you would skip them as there is only one or two per year.

The New Year special with Nicola Coughlan and Rylan was hilarious. I wished they did a whole season with them. At the very least watch that one, but they're all pretty good.

It's brutal. It's the only I didn't rewatch. Some really good tasks but none of them were good on it. Paul Sinha was having an existential crisis, Sian Gibson and Lou Sanders clearly detested each other, and the latter is one of the least funny people around. Iain Sterling had the self-awareness that he was horrible on it after watching it back but it was still tough to watch, and Joe Thomas could have been good surrounded by funnier people on pretty much any other series.

I tried the Australian one. The canned laughter had me turn it off immediately.

I couldn’t get on board with the last series. Phil didn’t make me laugh. Sanjeev’s “too cool for this” persona seemed a bit too genuine. Ania is one of those people who says “random!” at the end of a boring or unfunny anecdote, as if it auto-qualifies it as something worthwhile. Reece and Maisie were good but it wasn’t enough to keep me around. I think I’d enjoyed the previous series so much, it was going to be hard to follow. Next one looks more up my street.

Dave Gorman still maintains that they have only done half of the series that he was in. Mind you Al Murray probably can't afford to do the other 5 with the amount he spent in the first ones.
