Paid Members Carbomb Posted November 25, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 25, 2025 All the usual caveats regarding Hogan in place, which of his themes do you think were the best? <dominiclittlewood> I've no opinion myself, I'm on the fence </dominiclittlewood> but I do remember reading quite a few people on here saying they preferred American-Made to Real American. Let's settle this once and for all. Quote
Chili Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Real American, as American Made is the same song with notes changed or backwards, and it doesn't have Cyndi Lauper on the backing vocals either. Outside additional appreciation to the Rock 'n' Wrestling theme he had before Real American as well because it's a banger. Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted November 25, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted November 25, 2025 I'm a Voodoo Chile. I know it's not the right answer, but Hogan's 2002 WWE run is right in the middle of my fandom at its peak, and he was using Hendrix then, so that's the one for me. Quote
RedTwoster Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Out of the listed options, Real American. But Eye of the Tiger pisses all over that in my opinion, so it’s ‘other’ for me. Quote
Paid Members air_raid Posted November 25, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 25, 2025 I’m going for Voodoo Child only because “Hollywood” as the end of game boss is a symbol of my favourite time as a wrestling fan. Quote
Chico Torres Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Real American obviously. That theme hits and I’m cupping my ear and doing the muscle pose knowing that some evil foreign menace and/or fat cunt is about to get his arse handed to him brother. Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted November 25, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 25, 2025 I should flag I think I accidentally voted for American Made because of competency related reasons, so take one off of that and add it to Real American. Quote

I'd never actually heard this theme, and was confused as a kid as to why the Hulk Hogan cartoon had that theme. I saw it in around 1991, then saw Wrestlemania III on VHS, by which time he was using Real American. As obvious as it is that he had an earlier theme, I'd just never thought further than it being different. Live and learn. Quote

I don’t think the cartoon was shown here until 1991 which I guess makes sense but still a bit weird considering the cartoon imports we got during the 80’s Quote

Don’t lie, it’s because you didn’t read the title and thought you were voting for American Males. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted November 25, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted November 25, 2025 This puts it to bed. Even with gmoney voting for the American Males, Real American far outstrips all the others' votes combined. Quote

theringmaster Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 Eye of the Tiger for me, they would have stuck with it if they could have afforded the rights. Quote

This is the track that was eventually given to Bonnie Tyler for the song Ravishing. Was it written by Jim Steinmann. This makes it the greatest Hogan theme and wrestling trivia question of all time. Real American is better but only when you hear it in arena form with the insane levels of bass. American Made feels just like Hogan's 95 run when you listen to it...meh. Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted November 26, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 26, 2025 The crazy thing about American Made is when you realise that Jimmy's KOTR 93 promo is lyrics. Always makes me wonder if he'd pitched it as a theme for Hogan on his return in 1993? That would have been a sight to see. Maddest thing about the promo is Jimmy standing there jiggling about to make his Hulk jacket look like its talking. Would love to see the wideshot of that. Quote
