The opening bars are really familiar - I know I've heard that in an entrance theme before, but much more clangy synth and "big". Just can't think where.

He obviously had that entire album in 1995, and in 1993 had that cover of 'Leader of the Gang', but I just only realised 'The Hulkster's in the House' had a promo video with Jimmy Hart on drums, Linda on backing vocals Randy Savage on keyboard. Fucking keyboards! Like he's bloody Screech in Zack Attack. No wonder he hated the big racist.

Real American is better but only when you hear it in arena form with the insane levels of bass. American Made feels just like Hogan's 95 run when you listen to it...meh.

I suppose it would depend on which metric you're using?

For example: Ric Flair is pretty much synonymous with Also Sprach Zarathustra - he's never needed anything else for solo wrestling, so he's always had it, or that shite electric guitar variant that TNA gave him. The moment those opening bars hit, it got a pop, without fail. Other than that, he's only ever had the superb Four Horsemen theme.

If we're talking just in terms of sheer range of good stuff, I'd say Hogan's up there, for sure, though he's got some good competition from Sting, Edge, maybe Triple H?

The Undertaker is probably the one to beat for me - funeral march, You’re Gonna Pay, the ministry theme, Now that we’re dead, Rollin’ and Ain’t No Grave - for all his faults, theme music has rarely been one of them.

In 1991 WCW Ric Flair has a different theme, this isn’t around the time Jim Herd made him change his hair and wanted him to be a Spartacus character. It was shit.

Much as the funeral march fit his gimmick, it wasn't particularly enjoyable. It is, literally, a dirge. But the rest of it, sure!

That certainly brings down his average. How long did he have it for?

Must have only been a few months. But to bring his average back up he also used Phil Collins’ Easy Lover in the mid 80s eg one of the greatest matches ever against Barry Windham at Battle of the Belts 2. 

Theres also at least one match with Ronnie Garvin on TBS where he used The Wanderer
