The "boom period" never existed. 

The Cena heel run was fine. It just came too late, and shouldn't have ended like it did but he was retiring so either you do it like they did or you don't do it at all.

Yes. I don't think its a proper boom period in the classic way. It didn't bring any newcomers in, it wasn't talked about. Nobody outside of wrestling fandom gave a toss about Cody finishing his story. The crowds were hot, but to me, a boom period means you transcend into the mainstream. And I'm not convinced WWE did.

Surely it's more business related though? They don't have to transcend into the mainstream to be more successful.
