Ghana/Germany was one of the reasons I remember Brazil '14 so fondly - the first half was OK, but the second half was about as close to war that I've ever seen football get. Ton of fun.

What sort of times are we looking at for games UK time? 5, 7, 9pm for games from the eastern end? I did enjoy going to the pub for the late night games in the Brazil WC but I'm 12 years older and that'll be a bit of a chore on a weeknight.

Id assume so but I have memories of watching some of USA 94 at all hours of the night. And the TV was so bright that it must have Illuminated the entire estate.

There are going to be middle of the night games for us because they'll be playing a lot of games late evening due to heat issues.

I struggle with an 8pm kick off these days. I feel like putting the only winnable game at 2am local time is even more reason to hate FIFA.

I'm at Download that weekend for the 2am kick off. I hope they stick it in the village where they do movies or I'm gonna be shouting so loudly from my tent the neighbours are gonna assume I'm in a BDSM orgy.

Nah they'll definitely have it on. I remember watching England's opening game of 2006 there, and it was one of the hottest summers there has ever been. So hot that during the game the lighter in my hand (stupid to hold it I know) started pissing gas and exploded as I threw it to the ground, causing about 50 people to shit themselves.

This feels relevant- BBC's intro package for World Cup USA '94 but with the music from Eye On Springfield. Feels like such an innocent time with all the Mickey Mouse and lowrider car clips.

I've never actually bothered to look into this but I remember Aldridge and his outburst being shown in the middle of the night all in sun bleached yellows and greens.
