Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted October 19, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 19, 2025 I think I'm the opposite. I've been keeping up with AEW while I have the time to watchwrestling but the product has been really good for me. Enough to maybe get a Triller subscription so I can watch on my mornings off on a Thursday on a TV rather than my phone. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted October 19, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 19, 2025 I'm pretty sure that if Moxley lost his left arm in a match Chili would turn up in the thread about the show saying *Chili Mode Engaged* That's modern wrestling these days, they did the spot as safely as possible, Mox is right handed so losing his left doesn't really matter *Chili Mode Disabled* Of course that's an over-exagerration but I prefer my wrestlers to be not drowning but waiving. This isn't an over-exagerration however. 54 minutes ago, Chili said: What's wrong with it? It's not brain salad surgery to understand how to do the spot safely is it? And this defence of it is absolute dogshit. When watching a wrestling match everyone should always be sat there thinking "I understand how this is done safely" if you are watching wrestling to enjoy the health and safety aspects you are watching for the wrong reasons. The elephant in the room (don't worry everyone it's safely restrained) is that Moxley is a terrible wrestler, a backyarder given undue prominence that he can only maintain by increasing the levels of stupidity. I will now here the arguments of the naysayers, but actually I won't. Quote
FUM Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 The heel DROWNING the face and fans chanting “this is awesome” sums up lots of what I hate about modern wrestling is all I really have to contribute. Quote

RedTwoster Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 One thing I keep forgetting to say each show is that is that I really wish that AEW would stop flashing up what people are saying on X, effectively giving that swamp free promotion. It’s a platform that prioritises tweets by the far right, and whose owner is buddying up with Tommy Robinson. There’s no denying what it represents anymore. Quote
Kfogg1991 Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 The only match I've watched is the Darby Vs mox match just because they did everything they did during it and it was only a coffin match.......now a feud as violent and reasonable summary of it teetering on the edge of too much!? A I quit match that is also given the main event just brings a lot of expectations and if they did all they did that for the previous what will they do for this and I thought mox was just full on assaulting Darby at times which I know he's complicit with but it didn't feel hard to watch because they were telling a story it was just let's see how many ways we can damage him... If that's how it goes we should have finished with the coffin match Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted October 19, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted October 19, 2025 (edited) It was a great show to watch (tag team) wrestling on. FTR/Jetspeed, Bucks/Jurassic and especially Brodido/Okada-Takeshita were all really enjoyable. Having no idea who would win the tag title match made it even more exciting - great match. I think putting Moxley/Darby on last was a good idea, as if you didn’t want to see it you could just turn off the show there, instead of skipping through to find the next match only to stumble across a gross bit. thatvinylgeek Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 I didn't think he was drowning him, I thought he was trying to wash off Darby's facepaint and ruin his eerie mistique. "If you don't quit I'm gonna get Yuta to throw in the Mr Matey" Much more likely to get him to quit than death I would think. Quote
totheback Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 (edited) The TV is always fine, and I actually quite like that I can, if I want, only watch maybe two weeks of TV to be mostly up to date for the PPVs, but for me the PPVs are never less than decent, and frequently outstanding. Wrestledream goes down as good, but not great for me. The main event was actually a lot less crazier than I'd have thought - apparently they weren't allowed to blade or anything, so that probably explains it. Very excited for them to get to Okada vs Takeshita. Edited October 19, 2025 by totheback Quote

Paid Members LaGoosh Posted October 19, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 19, 2025 (edited) I've only seen Mox/Darby. It was fine, I guess. It didn't really grab me particularly at any point. I was pretty relieved how tame it was. I expected some genuinely horrific stuff but all the big spots were pretty goofy sports entertainment schtick rather than IWA Mid South - there's no way to do tasers, petrol, drowning (oh no how is Darby going to survive holding his breath for 7 seconds at a time!), pepper spray etc in wrestling without it being very, very silly and fake looking indeed. Nothing about it provoked any strong opinion in me whatsoever other than I'm glad this feud is over. At least I really hope it's over. Please God. Edited October 19, 2025 by LaGoosh Quote
Tennessee Moltisanti Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 Great show, too many complainers in here. More comments about a bit of water than Brodido and Takeshita and Okada putting on a clinic. Priorities are all wrong on here. Quote

The fans won't accept it. Samoa Joe is definitely in this category. Quote
Infinity Land Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 It was forever ago that Brian Cage, Lance Archer, and Wardlow could believeably be put in for a mini-feud with someone. Now they're all just 1/10th of the Don Callis Family. When Josh Alexander turned up tonight at first glance I thought it was Crimson. Scrap Ring of Honor. Bring back the days using that time to give heels squash matches to rack up a series of wins, only to be knocked back down the rankings by a fiery babyface. Quote
