Paid Members LaGoosh Posted October 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 3, 2025 I know they'll fill out the card with about 10 more matches and turn it into an absolute slog but as far as Triple main events go that's one hell of a line up of matches even if the winners are predictable. Credit to Joe and Hangman being so great they managed to make a main event and it feel must see in about 5 minutes of TV time. Going to be an absolute slobberknocker. I Quit is the perfect stipulation for Mox/Allin because from a character perspective neither man believes they will ever say "I Quit". I expect this to be a spectacle of some very extreme violence which will surely upset/disgust some people but, hey, you should know what to expect at this point and the faults with you. Toni/Kris will be great and should really established Statlander as a top star. I'm excited to see where Storm goes with it, she's not the type of performer to stay static - I expect we'll see the Timeless character develop some new dimensions post title reign. Now if they could keep the card down to 7 matches, 8 maximum, I'll be very happy. But it's going to be 12 isn't it... Quote
Ro_y Disco Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 I've bought the last three AEW PPVs, but currently thinking I might skip this one. The three announced matches are solid enough, but not quite enough for me to buy the show. Plenty of time to build things and change my mind though. The double figures of matches used to make sense when they only had 4 PPVs a year (and half the amount of TV time) but now they're monthly affairs they really should cut way back. Less really can be more sometimes. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted October 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 3, 2025 Especially when at least 1/3rd of the matches on PPV usually feel like decent worthwhile Dynamite/Collision matches but wastes of time on PPV. Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted October 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 3, 2025 (edited) There's no real pull to see this show. I can't think of anything that will be added that I absolutely need to see either. Probably should have bought the double pack that included it but didn't so not buying it on it's own. That poster is absolutely beautiful. Edited October 3, 2025 by tiger_rick Quote

And fair play to them that Im mostly sold on this, despite having seen Mox tap out already this year. I know its a bit different to saying the words, but its also not. Quote

I know its a bit different to saying the words, but its also not. That's a great point. It would have more impact if the finish at All In had been a straight up buckshot. I do think the "I quit" stipulation gives them enough leeway to sell the story that this is definitive and should be the downfall of Moxley after he's said "I quit" leading to his followers losing faith in him or him just taking time away and coming back fresh. It also says a lot about the sheer volume of wrestling that I'd pretty much forgotten the All In finish. I had to rack my brain to remember that it wasn't actually a buckshot and pinfall finish, I just remember Hangman won. Similarly, I was reading some of the early pages in the 2025 AEW TV thread earlier this week and there was a load of discourse around "Cope" and that whole change of name, his matches with Moxley and the MJF/Jarrett stuff all felt like a different decade, let alone mere months ago. It's hard to believe this is the same company quarter upon quarter sometimes. Edited October 3, 2025 by tiger_rick Quote
RedTwoster Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 I also bought the double pack, and I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy the show even if the card is less strong than usual. Page/Joe should be great, and Statlander/Storm has as good a chance as any women’s title match to close the show (although I still think they should have had Statlander join the Death Riders). Moxley/Darby will almost certainly not be for me, but it’s going to have big consequences as far as the story is concerned. And if we get Takeshita/Okada on the card? Here we fucking go. Quote
Doog Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 (edited) I feel like Storm definitely deserves a PPV main event, but it would be disappointing in a weird way if it was this this one and this match with Statlander. She's had much bigger and more interesting stories throughout the last couple of years that would have really felt fitting as a main event, the match with Statlander, whilst no doubt will be really good, doesn't feel big enough to warrant it being the main event. I felt like Storm and Mariah May should have main evented back when they had the Hollywood ending, the blow off to a few years story that elevated both women and the company as a whole to be fair. The match was great too, that was the time for me. Even Storm v Mone, but that was competing with Hangman winning the belt so wasn't the time, but the rematch could of. I dunno, it just feels like there isn't quite the story/anticipation that makes this feel like it has to main event, other than there being no better option as your mens World Title has also had a cobbled together feud (that both Hangman and Joe have sold brilliantly in just one show) with a couple weeks build. It has a great chance of being the main event I agree, but not necessarily for the right reasons. Probably overthinking and analysing it a bit too deep, and a womens match main eventing an AEW PPV would be great, but id just have liked it to be for a match with a lot more anticipation, big time feel that it feels like it has to go on last, that's all. I'm a strong believer your World Title should always main event, but the feud with yhe most build and story is Darby v Mox, so we'll see. Edited October 3, 2025 by Doog Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted October 12, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 12, 2025 Tony Khan has an All You Can Eat buffet for every meal of every single day. I need a shit just looking at this. Quote
Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 Do they really need another Demand v Hurt Syndicate match? Quote

Yeah this is such weird booking. Having the babyfaces go over in a brutal street fight then doing a straight trios match on PPV a couple of weeks later makes no sense at all. It's done, just move on! The King Of Swing Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 My biggest concern is that Darby and Mox will end up doing something really dumb. Otherwise a good looking card. Quote

BrodyGraham Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 (edited) The Darby/Mox stuff has just felt a bit dumb and wacky for me. Thank God Darby went up Everest 'cos I might have just jacked wrestling in altogether if it had been him holding the belt and looking at a long run at the top of the card. Since he's come back everything to do with him has just felt so contrived and try hard, I roll my eyes when I hear his music now. Which is a problem when every other Dynamite is him threatening or attempting murder to end the show. Fuck off. So yeah, I can probably do without that I Quit match and not because I'm squeamish about the violence, just the fucking edge lord histrionics of it all. There's a lot on that card that should be good, some of it great, but there's at least 2 matches on the main card alone that are probably being sent out to die, barring some miraculous booking or formatting. Hurts/Demand and Thekla/Hayter are going to have to really go some and the TNT title match is pretty much relying on a title change to eke out some good will from a match we've already seen a bunch in the last 2 years. I'll still buy it. I'll question the economics of my decision afterwards. Edited October 12, 2025 by BrodyGraham Thekla Vs Hayter although Thelma Vs Hayter would be oddly appropriate. Quote
