Paid Members LaGoosh Posted August 9, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 9, 2025 (edited) Weird that they've gone for a Starry Night theme with this considering Van Gough isn't French and it's not even a painting of Paris. I'm guessing this is AI slop. Shameless. Edited August 9, 2025 by LaGoosh Quote

I'm guessing this is AI slop. Shameless. Starry Night was painted in France. Glasgow doesn’t have a castle but they still had castles in the graphics. I know WWE isn’t currently the most popular company of the day but this isn’t really that deep. Quote

Yeah maybe it isn't that deep. Or maybe they should put a bit more effort in and not base the visual theme of a show called Clash In Paris around a painting that has literally nothing to do with Paris at all? I dunno, I just don't like the billion dollar company producing lazy AI slop and people mindlessly consuming it. Quote

I pissed myself when I saw people throwing around a card for this that had Cody defending, Cena vs Lesnar and Rollins vs Reigns. Hilariously out of touch with how many marquee matches they commit to a B show in 2025. Quote

I dunno, I just don't like the billion dollar company producing lazy AI slop and people mindlessly consuming it. I think it's probably a combination of both things. In terms of the concept, it doesn't really matter. I think they've shown before that to them (and to be fair, I think this is reflective of a lot of America), Europe is one big homogenous blob. I don't think their audience will even notice that this is a little strange. That said, I'm almost certain this will have come about because someone was lazily googling 'Paris Culture' or something, and has confused 'Starry Night in Rhone' with 'Starry Night'. Regarding AI, I actually find it hard to get too cross when it comes to on-screen graphics as TV companies have been automating elements of the on-screen GFX packages forever. I was working at Sky a decade ago when elements like name plates, idents and even some video packages were automatically generated. I know of sports properties whose entire highlights packages have been automatically generated for years. And that was before we had the term AI to get mad at, and no one seemed to care then when production people were losing their jobs every year. It's shitty and sloppy most the time, but we've been accepting it on live sports for far longer than OpenAI or whoever have even existed. Quote
The King of Old School Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 I'm surprised anyone expected Brock on this show. Guessing they will save it for the Australia show or maybe even for Survivor Series seeing as it's in a stadium this year? Think Cody/Drew looks like it's happening, then guessing at a 6 man on the Raw side with the Seth Riders (thanks to who ever put that on here the other day ?) against Punk, Roman & Knight, maybe Solo vs Sami for the US title and then probably another Women's match to round the card off, Becky vs Nikki Bella? HeadshrinkerJ Posted August 12, 2025 Posted August 12, 2025 Haven't been this uninterested in a WWE PPV in years. Quote

There's a new PPV just there to rival All Out, I'm betting they stick Brock vs Cena on it. Quote

Guest Posted August 13, 2025 Posted August 13, 2025 I'm confused, why are they marketing it as "Calash in Paris"? Quote
OzExile Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 The B PLEs have consistently been better than the marquee ones this year. Excited for this with Roman added to the card. Interesting venue as well - a rugby ground with capacity at 40k. Seems the sweet spot for WWE. Quote
