With Dwayne and Cena being Hollywood Actors, you'd think that the heel turn would have been better acted.

It's wrestling and your assuming that to be a Hollywood actor you have to be exceptionally good at that.

At the risk of doing my own turn, I thought the acting was great. Certainly from Cena. The pivot from the big hug into the serious face, and then looking at The Rock for clearance to attack? That was really well done.

That quick change from smile to serious was the turn for me. That was when my heart dropped. The low blow wasn't the turn, it was already done by then. So on that level, top marks for acting if you're turning 25 years of character with just your eyes.

Using the watch as a knuckleduster was a lovely touch too.

The only thing I'm interested to see, and worried about, is how they handle the Rock/Cena dynamic. I might struggle to accept Cena as being 'junior' to The Rock. But I think there's a great story in Cena, having lost match after match, sold his soul to the Board-level devil to make sure he gets that final title run.

You're right, I'm guessing that Dwayne just didn't bother to show up to the rehearsals.

Women's Chamber

In a way it's a shame that the Cena turn happened at this event because otherwise the biggest talking point might have been Jade Cargill absolutely trouncing Naomi. She looked incredible, everything looked like it really fucking hurt and Naomi, to her credit, sold like death. Brilliant. Thing is, Jade comes off looking like the heel. They've not got much time before Wrestlemania to apply a logical story to this but in isolation, brilliant.

Match was really good! Alexa Bliss hasn't missed a step since she returned, Roxanne Perez absolutely looked like she belonged, and now we get Bianca Belair vs Rhea Ripley? Yes ta. Sod off, Iyo.

The only thing is, Belair was in bits about what happened to Naomi and at the end, instead of rushing to the back to see if her friend was alive, she stuck around the ring celebrating for ages and posed with sone other wrestlers. You ought to be ashamed of yourself, Bianca.

Also, did Bayley try and get out of her pod the wrong side?

Women's tag match

Happened.

Then they had a long advert for The Rock. Did you know he's on the board of TKO?

Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens

Eh, for the most part a standard garbage match that only got properly violent near the end and I'm not including the stupid fucking barbed wire chair. Fuck off with this shit. Thing is, for an unsactioned match this never felt as violent or dangerous as Punk vs McIntyre in the cell, a match that was sanctioned.

Nice to see Randy back though. That'll be a good fight at Wrestlemania.

Men's chamber

Fine but not as good as the women's. Developed a couple of stories. I always said they were going to do the Punk / Rollins / Reigns triple threat. Honest!

The turn!

The turn itself was brilliantly done. The rest of it was shite. The Rock, Travis Scott, the f-bomb. But it was worth it for how well Cena played it. I wonder if Punk's favour will be to somehow worm his way into that match and it becomes a triple threat. Probably not but who knows.

Good event.

What exactly did he do wrong? He seemed fairly standard Rock to me. Which if that's not your thing, fair enough.

Honestly, it’s about time that Bron Breakker had a big ‘Mania match. Breakker/Rollins would cut it.

I’d say Breakker vs Styles vs Balor might be the direction. Though, to get as many names into the card as possible it wouldn’t shock me if they do another 2-fall cluster like the tag titles last year with those three plus Nakamura, LA Knight and Carmelo Hayes, as a means to get the US title onto Hayes without a straight heel vs heel match and get the ICT off Bron without pinning him.

Devvers, always a bastion of sanity in a sea of giddiness. Absolutely right. The turn was a well planted flag on a planet of bullshit.

I do worry that the Punk favour is going to be getting Heyman to force Roman to agree to putting Punk in with Roman/Rollins. Which is the worst favour anyone will have ever done anyone.

I've soured on The Rock over the last few months and I really don't care for The Final Boss character.

His "ill make sure the dream dies... again" line was a lesson in terrible timing, to be fair, and then he 'slit his throat' with a two fingered blade that immediately became a smoking finger pistol.

She did but the best pod related stuff was of course with Phil. From very kindly popping a light strip back on that had fallen down to him shouting "Oh we know it's me, open the fupping door!" he was having a whale of a time in there.

Most shocking heel turn since Tugboat betrayed The Bushwhackers, changed his name and swimming cossie to Typhoon and aligned himself with the dastardly Earthquake.

Also The Rock is leagues above the rest of the roster in terms of presence and star quality and charisma and every other factor that makes someone a superstar (ie not moves, 2 counts, reversals, shocked faces etc) Same as last year he’s elevated the main event by being so much better than the rest of them, Cody should be thanking him again for making him important after a year of nothing since The Rock made him a star.

As Chilli said, you don’t have to be exceptionally good. See Gal Gadot.

Can we get an update from one of the newsletters if Pat McAfee is still having a massive paddy about Canadians rightly booing the dregs out of the US National Anthem. Little Temu Rogan prat.
