Celebrity appearances. Specifically people I don’t know. I’m fine with the Culkin brothers, Vanessa Hudgens and Matthew McConaughey. But when it’s an American sports star, streamer or new singer, I’m annoyed. Celebrity appearances should be strictly limited to people I know and like. Kai Cenat? Sorry, you’ve been bumped for Ralph Macchio. 

Pull apart brawls are happening way too often. 

Lastly, the general managers of Raw and Smackdown. Why are they still in a job? Every week there’s a backstage brawl or someone getting violently attacked. If I was a manager in Tesco and every week there were employees getting into fights by the cardboard bailer and people were being sent to a local medical facility, I’m sure I’d have to answer to head office. I’d likely be sacked. The inability of Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis to control their rosters and make it a safe environment needs to be looked into.

I thought it was pretty fun in 99 and gave a believable reason for Austin to be guest ref of the Unforgiven 99 main event.

When they did that weird angle where the entire roster went on strike because they were scared of R-Truth and The Miz...that was less good.

The main negative thing for me is that there's just too much content for a super-completist FOMO sapiens like me. Even contemplating the idea of tuning in feels like homework instead of something I'd watch to enjoy, even though the stories as told by you fine lot make them sound great.

Also, something that touched upon what Pat was saying: nobody has a signature colour any more, though it's something that's been the case for some time. Hogan had red and yellow, then black and white, Bret Hart and any subsequent Harts/Hart associates donned the neon pink & black, Kane had the red (and black, but the red was more emphasised), Taz had the orange & black, DX had the black & green, Nexus had the yellow & black, and I have trouble thinking of any more. I'm sure there are, but none come to mind.

It was something a bit more prominent in Japan, to be fair: sometimes the wrestler in question would even have a signature move named for their colour: Misawa (Emerald Flowsion), Kobashi (Orange Crush), Akiyama (Blue Thunder Driver), Taue (Ruby Flowsion), Chono (Shining Black). Dunno if Kawada ever had a move named for his yellow & black, but wouldn't be surprised if there was one.

I think this is a myth. I went 13 months without watching AEW at all and kept up with what was going on thanks to Jason Powell and this place. Ever since Rampage started up, the last 2 months is the only time I've regularly watched more than one AEW show a week. I've never felt like I've missed anything that wouldn't be in a recap video or could be caught up by going back and watching one match or segment. The thing with the amount of content is that most of it doesn't really matter. I can't speak for WWE now but when I was last watching that, it was 5 hours a week and you could fast forward 90% of it. I don't think US Wrestling has ever been easier to follow. It's all on streaming services, you can easily dip in and out, the best bits are on YouTube, or Twitter if you're a Nazi, and you can easily just watch the PPVs.

Paying for PPVs is the only downside of being an AEW ULTRA. Unless you're a dodgy mofo.

I appreciate that. The completist part of me finds it difficult to accept any reassurance that I wouldn't be missing out on anything; there's a subconscious part of my brain insists that not watching everything through will cause me to miss out on some amazing work of story craftsmanship encapsulated in a single moment.

Never watching WWE again, so it would have to be either AEW or shelling out for TNA or a Japanese promotion. I don't know enough any more about British promotions to follow them, and I don't know if I can be bothered to catch up.

It’s the start of Adam Copeland’s theme song - when Beth Phoenix says ‘you think you know him’ instead of the ‘you think you know me’ we’re all used to. 

Now, I understand that this is probably for copyright reasons, but to me? It makes his theme song - which is exactly the same as it was in WWE - feel like a knock-off. Just ditch the bit of speech at the start, then the issue I have with it is gone.

There's a million production/presentation things I hate. The vast majority of them being things introduced/cemented by WWE over the past 15 years which are now see as "the way" wrestling is presented, is copied by every other US promotion and are absolutely fucking SHITE but to spare you all I'll just pick one in particular for this post.

When they show someone backstage watching a match on a monitor. They are always standing (why standing?) facing the camera, head titled to the side, in some weird environment that looks like no real place that has ever actually existed and in perfect moody lighting. Why are they even there? Why aren't they acknowledging the camera? So unrealistic and stupid nonsense. 

As a more general negative  - I hate almost  everything about modern day WWE and think you're all insane for enjoying it. Sorry!

Great example of this was a couple of weeks ago on RAW where Rhea Ripley, walking through a massive space in the backstage area, got sneak attacked by Nia Jax.

This wasn’t a narrow corridor that she was walking g down and Nia snuck up on her round the corner or something, this was a wide open space, and Nia somehow managed to sneak attack her from the side. Rhea would’ve been able to see her from 100yrds away

See this shit at the 30 second mark where Roman Reigns spears Sheamus from off camera DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF HIM without him seeing him beforehand then the rest of The Shield just turn up out of nowhere. Absolutely terrible.
