Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 17, 2025 Gondry is a magician of the form. I can't comprehend what a painstaking process this video must have been to make, it's extraordinary. This is so beautifully shot and inventive in concept. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted January 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 17, 2025 That Star Guitar video will never not impress me. Beautiful. Quote
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted January 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 17, 2025 I showed my daughter some Michel Gondry videos after we watched Be Kind Rewind recently and she was totally indifferent to Star Guitar (which I don't think I'd watched for 20 years) and I was completely fascinated by it. What an unusual concept executed perfectly. @hallicks I'd never seen the Enid song, but that was brilliant. I only got a few of the references but it was really funny. Quote
The Curious Orange Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 (edited) Just to make everyone feel old, his son is directing music videos now too Edited January 17, 2025 by The Curious Orange still great - but i think this one might've been with his brother Quote
Paid Members DEF Posted January 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 17, 2025 (edited) Probably my favourite music video Closely followed by Edited January 17, 2025 by DEF Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted January 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 17, 2025 Also, let us not forget that David Lynch, mad bastard that he was, composed this track, and ran a competition for the best music video; the guy to whom he awarded the prize came up with something Lynch himself might have made: David Lynch - Good Day Today Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted January 17, 2025 Members Posted January 17, 2025 Always loved this by Roots Manuva. The cruffatin liveth... Conversely, always thought this by Snoop was absolutely shit. The bit when he turns into a dog is brilliantly crap. Quote
wordsfromlee Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 I used to be obsessed with this video when I was younger. It came out around the time I became a teenager and started properly fancying girls. I'd stay up late on a weekend to watch '120 Minutes' on MTV2, hoping to catch this video. I'd watch it fascinated by it. Everything about it was my idea of what I wanted my life to be when I "grew up" as a 13 year old. It was the ultimate dream life for me. Quote
