Paid Members tiger_rick Posted March 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 24, 2025 That Mox/Cope spot was fucking horrendous. Tapped me out of the show and almost the promotion. Haven't watched Collision yet thru PTSD. What on earth are they thinking putting this garbage on TV? This is the best promotion. It's a fantastically fun TV show. It needs to attract a wider audience. Not scare off an existing one. Genuinely been fuming with this nonsense since Thursday. Will be cutting the ultra badge off my sleeve. Quote

It’s the Office-style glance to the camera that makes it. Perfect. Yeah I found that really funny. The worst thing about Chris Jericho is when he drops the veil and shows a little glimpse of how enjoyable he could still be. Quote

When she shows her abs you can hear Brian Keith just lose it and then Jericho breaks, shame he's still a annoying twat though, bet he gets a new nickname or catchphrase off this as well!! Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted March 24, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted March 24, 2025 (edited) That was a very enjoyable Collision overall. It being two one-hour shows meant it never dragged. There’s 20 minutes of Adam Cole to have to sit through at the start, but then you get Julia, Aminata, Briscoe, Hobbs, Takeshita, Murder Machines, Toni, Harleygram and Mortos to enjoy as a reward. Paid Members LaGoosh Posted March 27, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted March 27, 2025 (edited) Oh, that tease - Hangman/Swerve at All In IT HAS TO BE DONE! Decent enough show. Dynasty mostly feels like it's getting in the way so hopefully once they're done with that they can start the big stories leading into All In Texas, Swerve has recently suggested that after his 5 year contract runs out he's done with wrestling. My suggestion would be to put the title on Stone Cold Swerve Strickland at Dynasty and keep it on him for all 5 of those years. He's the best. Coolest motherfucker alive. Everyone loves him. The time to end this dud Mox reign is so clearly now and Swerve is so obviously the person to do it. That Big Bill/Hurt Syndicate segment was awful. It had that clunkiness you get one when person is so clearly sticking to their scripted/thought out lines while the other person is just going freestyle. It never works. They both said "bitch" about six times each. Ugh. The MJF/MVP story is interesting though I definitely felt they moved on from Hangman/MJF a bit too quick. Surely they could have got another month out of that story - it was red hot! Fletcher getting good old fashioned heel heat against Brody and the fans chanting for the babyface rather than "this is awesome". You love to see it. Good mic work from Omega, he made me laugh out loud twice which is rare of him. Speedball should make a decent heel eventually, he talks like a henchman from an 80s action movie and his face is incredibly punchable. Dax Harwood has a perfect wrestling promo voice but he's unable to speak without going too fast, tripping over himself and rambling complete bollocks. I'm not sure the Powerhouse Hobbs experiment is working. I just don't think he's good enough. His ring work is missing that snap that it needs for a man his size. I liked how this match started, it made it feel big time. Unfortunately they couldn't maintain that momentum as Hobbs just lacks the presence and physical charisma to keep the people engaged. Davis's flying forearm in the corner was a lovely move though. I'm glad Willow is getting that big babyface pop moment with one of the main angles but that Marina Shafir match if it ever happens is going to be the shits. Takeshita/Briscoe was great fun. Callis was great on commentary too. I assume that Blood and Guts will involve the Deathriders this year (boo!) but I'd love to see The Don Calls Family in it instead. They've really turned the group around this year and are almost always one of the highlights of the show. Main event Toni Storm! Shows the level of faith she's built with the company where they now trust her to close the show each week. Thunder Tits was brilliant and the main event tag was good. Got to give Penelope Ford credit for being off injured for so long but immediately getting herself back in the mix. I thought they had binned off Top Flight like they seemingly have Private Party. A bit disappointed to see them back on Collision and Dynamite. I know they're hometown guys but isn't that what dark matches are for? Very minor point but I hate those steel mesh wall things they put on the side of the entrance way with the holes in. They look terrible. Edited March 27, 2025 by LaGoosh Quote
Paid Members RedTwoster Posted March 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 27, 2025 Another good show, capped off by a surprise appearance by Von Wagner. A man apparently picked out as a future Wrestlemania main event re by Vince McMahon, reduced to the role of an extra on Dynamite. I felt a bit sorry for him, even if he isn’t particularly good. I’m glad that they kept the Omega/BC match short instead of trying to make it a competitive affair. Mike Bailey is a bit awkward on the mic, but I’m very much looking forward to that triple threat. Ricochet transforming into one of the best heels in wrestling is one of the most miraculous and impressive character evolutions in my time watching wrestling outside of maybe Toni Storm becoming ‘timeless’. The MJF/MVP/Hurt Syndicate stuff was interesting and I’m intrigued as to where they go next. It’s exactly what Max needed and, for the first time in a long while, I’m interested in what he’s doing. Rated FTR is what it is, but presumably it’s leading to FTR vs Copeland/Christian, which is something that I actually want to see. The only negative I have really is the Jericho stuff. It’s not even that it was bad, it’s just that he’s so stale that this in itself brings down a show, albeit briefly. Add the ROH title to the mix and I feel even more apathetic. I’m not sure how they remedy that, but I hope they try. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted March 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 27, 2025 There was some chat in the Raw thread about whether predictable booking is good or bad. I think the directions AEW are heading in proves that if it’s a good destination, predictable booking is great. A Texas stadium show headlined by Swerve vs. Hangman for the World Title? With Christian and Cope vs. FTR, after FTR inevitably turn on Cope. I’m - ahem - All In on that! Even the Minecraft Llama in the background of the shot is marking out! He can’t believe his luck! WyattSheepMask Posted March 27, 2025 Posted March 27, 2025 The Llama looking in shock at Swerve then back to Hangman. Top work from the little guy Quote
Guest Posted March 27, 2025 Posted March 27, 2025 So if we assume that Osprey is winning the title at All In, which he definitely is, I guess it's whether you have him repeat that absolute banger with Swerve, or go full finish the story with Mox. Have Pac deported, Claudio interferes and then is taken out by Derby Allin, Marina by Willow and then when Yuta sneaks in Bryan Danielson can make his return, kick Yuta's head in, and then pass the "best wrestler in the world" torch over to Billy and the whole thing definitely doesn't look like Temu Mania 40. They could of course contrive a reason for Hanger to go after the Death Riders during Swerve's match and help him win the belt, but we all understand why that's the wrong decision don't we? More likely, I think, is that they'll find a reason to get Hangman distracted or otherwise not there for Dynasty. The Owen is really shaping up this year, with some strong contenders in it, and I hope it sticks that way rather than get filled with your Komanders and Mark Davises. Quote

It’s such a contrived thing to set up, and I find the match very low drama - same goes for any war games-style match really. 9 hours ago, LaGoosh said: I'm not sure the Powerhouse Hobbs experiment is working. I totally agree with you here. Hobbs is better than Wardlow, but he still feels incomplete. 7 hours ago, Duke said: So if we assume that Osprey is winning the title at All In, which he definitely is, I guess it's whether you have him repeat that absolute banger with Swerve, or go full finish the story with Mox. Honestly, I hope they put the title on Swerve and have him beat Ospreay again. Make Ospreay’s story that he keeps getting so close to the title, but failing, making it feel monumental when he does eventually win at…say…the next All In in London? Quote
BrodyGraham Posted March 27, 2025 Posted March 27, 2025 (edited) I think Forbidden Door at the latest for the Ospreay win. You wait til next year and we're in full on Gedo booking territory. He won't be ice cold but it'll take him pretty far from red hot, barring some proper booking wizardry. Edited March 27, 2025 by BrodyGraham Quote
