Paid Members tiger_rick Posted March 31, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 31, 2025 Worst catchphrase in television history too. The fictional sitcom inside the fictional Extras show had better material. Quote

His name shouting is beyond stale, and he has neither the wit nor personality to make the character he’s trying to play work. I would rather watch Chris Jericho than any of Adam Cole’s pals, which is pretty much the ultimate condemnation. I shudder every time they appear on screen. Yeah, it's all of them. Cole came out, said he respects the hell out of Garcia *crickets*. Strong takes the mic, screams "DANNNNNNY". *crickets* It's time. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted March 31, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted March 31, 2025 The "I respect you" thing between opponents thing comes up almost multiple times weekly on AEW. I don't care for it. I'd rather guys just hated eachother. Quote
Infinity Land Posted March 31, 2025 Posted March 31, 2025 Tonight's the night of the last WWE show at London's o2. How long do people think it will take for the Forbidden Door venue to be announced? Quote
The King Of Swing Posted March 31, 2025 Posted March 31, 2025 (edited) Wouldn't be surprised if it's announced during Dynasty. Edited March 31, 2025 by The King Of Swing Quote

I really hope they hold a TV taping in the run-up to Forbidden Door further north, whether it’s in Glasgow, Edinburgh or even Manchester, I’d take it - somewhere that’s a bit more easily accessible than London for me! Plus, I think it would sell well, particularly if it was priced more sensibly than the WWE shows. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted April 1, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted April 1, 2025 (edited) In case anyone's interested in this stuff, it's been reported that the average viewing figures for Dynamite on Max are about 500k weekly. So with the 600-700k on TBS Dynamite is getting over 1m live viewers per week at the moment which is more viewers than they were ever getting for Dynamite in their 2021 peak. Pretty cool. Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 2, 2025 Over a million is a cracking result. I think I read that's the number who watch it within 24 hours of it first airing. However you slice it, that's a lot of eyeballs. Not that I should put slice and eyeballs in the same sentence, it will give Moxley ideas. Quote

Good to see. It's really hard to judge what are good numbers and has been for a good while because generally they're still using traditional measures and there are a ton of other ways to watch. There were episodes of Raw last year as low as 1.3m that would have terrified them years ago but it's barely relevant now. AEW clearly cooled off by every measure though so it's nice to see it rebounding in some ways. The product has been consistent for 6-8 months, the crowds feel good - though are obviously still small - and the TV is more accessible and people are watching. That's great news and justifies the increase in revenue. The spotlight been given to a massive roster of talented people, the people who really feel like stars outside WWE, like Toni, Kenny, Swerve, Hangman, Mariah, Ospreay, OC, MJF, Okada, etc and the ones who feel like they could be something big like Willow, Garcia, Stat, Darby, Brody, Hobbs, Julia, etc, and the home for people who have plenty to offer post WWE - it's just brilliant for the industry. Most importantly, a home for fans who don't like / absolutely fucking detest WWE. I'm biased but I'm always pleased to see it in healthy shape, even if I'm not watching. Quote

Paid Members Supremo Posted April 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 2, 2025 Fingers crossed they continue the subtle nods to Moxley being shit scared of Willow. He knows a Deathmatch Queen when he sees one. Can’t run away quick enough. My main hope is that AEW don’t take the bait. You’ve finally gotten your house in order. The momentum feels like it’s swinging. And the company that supposedly doesn’t consider you competition can’t shut the fuck up about you. Keep your head down. Stay focussed. Get that belt on Swerve this weekend. Delete Twitter from Tony’s phone. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted April 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 3, 2025 (edited) A mostly boring, dull, filler episode. Apart from one bit that was absolutely magical. Nice to see my type of personality represented. I felt an instant connection. It’s happening. Hangman is helping him win that belt on Sunday. It’ll be the greatest, most romantic moment in the history of our sport. World peace will be achieved. If they can change, and we can change, everybody can change! It’s coming home! Yes! Paid Members RedTwoster Posted April 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 3, 2025 Bit of a disappointing episode leading into the PPV given how good Dynamie has been recently, but Swerve is 100% winning the belt on Sunday with the help of Hangman, so it’s kind of hard to care about that when this is what’s (probably) going to happen. I can’t wait! Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted April 3, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted April 3, 2025 AEW continuing the tradition of having a filler, nothing go home show before a PPV. Absolutely textbook. I enjoyed the mixed tag at the start a lot. It was sloppy in places but had good action. Marina had her arm in a sling later on so maybe she got hurt early on as she seemed a bit off in places. Great showing for Willow and it made me want to see Willow vs Mox more than Swerve vs Mox. Marina shouting "DO IT!" when Swerve had her up for Big Pressure was a cool moment. Production missing Willow putting Mox through the table was annoying as hell. I'm sure Mox DDT'ing Willow will be the latest AEW Helen Lovejoy concern/outrage troll moment from the usual bad faith morons online (sadly we have a few of them on here too). Moments like that are when I miss JR, he would have really put that moment over as heinous and reprehensible but Excalibur, Taz and Schiavone are just not good at really selling angles. One of my biggest AEW pet peeves in full force when they moved on so quickly from that. Didn't even show a replay, it was just "oh jeez, well moving on" about 30 seconds after it happened. I know they went back to it over the show but in the moment you need to let things breath and land properly sometimes. The only other three things of note to me on the show: 1. Hangman/Swerve being absolute magic again. Wherever this is going I can't wait. Swerve/Hangman All In is the absolute one. 2. Love how they are shooting Big Bill at the moment. They're making him look like the biggest man on Earth. And MVP seems to have genuinely pissed him off, there's been a real fire to him since that promo exchange - I love to see it. 3. Megan Bayne. Good lord. That outfit. I needed a cold shower afterwards. Quote
