Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted January 1, 2025 Posted January 1, 2025 It's just all confusing at the top of the card isn't it? Mox is champ but you've got Page, White, OC, Allin, etc all going after him and wanting title shots. Christian is wandering around with his guaranteed title shot for months on end without doing anything with it. Now we've got a Casino Guantlet match which gives someone a title shot at a defined point. As said, it'll be Copeland winning the CG. Then probably losing the title match but he'll have beaten up Mox so much that Christian will cash in and take the title and set up a Christian v Copeland fued for the title and Mox can do whatever with the Death Riders and slowly slide away again. Doog Posted January 1, 2025 Posted January 1, 2025 I do like that AEW put importance on the World Title mind and have multiple people going after it and mentioning it. It's a bit weird we haven't actually seen the Championship in months, but at least it's importance is being emphasised and it's clearly the barometer and everyone wants it. Compare that with WWE, on RAW the World Title doesn't really exist, Gunther hasn't even been on the show for weeks and no one mentions the title at all, on Smackdown Cody has the belt but only Owens has any interest in it. Biggest RAW ever on Netflix next week is built entirely around anything but the World Titles, they may as well not exist. It's night and day. So many directions they can go in 2025 too, personally I hope they don't go with Darby, there are far more interesting feuds/champions to go to after Moxley. Quote

Hopefully a sign they're going to put more effort into Collision going forwards. In the past month or so, just before the classic started, they've been upping their game on Collision, having actual stars appear on it and everything. I never used to watch it because Sunday's a solo parent day for me, but they've done enough to make it worth the effort now. It's still the B show, but not quite as badly as it has been! 27 minutes ago, Tim Healys Chutney Spoon said: As said, it'll be Copeland winning the CG. Getting too cocky in wrestling booking never ends well, and I certainly get more wrong than right, but if they end up with 2 51 year old ex WWE guys feuding for the top belt, I'll be the first one on the barricade. Paid Members LaGoosh Posted January 1, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted January 1, 2025 (edited) Yeah, if I want melodrama I'll watch Raw and Smackdown. I'm totally fine with a Copeland/Mox feud in general but not for the title. I have no interest in that. Now Kenny's back I want them to give him the push and handling he deserves. They need to treat him like the most special attraction they've got. AEW is always at it's best when either Kenny or Hangman are on top and this will probably be Kennys last big run. Book him like he's Roman Reigns. Also, unrelated to everything...just look at this man: I love him. Edited January 1, 2025 by LaGoosh Quote
TheScarlettChad Posted January 1, 2025 Posted January 1, 2025 WHY are they doing Mox/Copleland on Dynamite? Yes, its a Trios match but you should save it for a PPV. Quote

Too many people getting title shots with no real reason for it whilst others have title shots sitting there doing nothing. I am minded to think Christian knows when Copeland would be back so held off using his title shot as I bet TK thinks there's more mileage still in Copeland/Cage than not having them interact in a top level programme. Still, could be worse and Jericho wins the CG.... Quote
FUM Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 Ah, good to see it only took till page 2 for an AEW fan to make a needless and wrong comparison with the fed. No escaping it on here, not sure why shows can’t just be discussed in their own context when they aren’t really competing. Anyway, I’ll give tonight a go as I like to check in on AEW every now and then in case there’s anything to my tastes that I’m missing. Can’t promise I’ll stick around as I rarely do but always like to see the start of a new TV deal in action as it generally is a good restart point. Quote

Pop a rating or something. I actually like when they do chuck a big match on TV for the belts. They have so many bloody people they might as well and still have people around who can headline a PPV. Mox/Omega title change was on free TV, though if World's End existed in 2020 (felt like it almost did in reality) it'd have been on that. Quote
Chili Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 Gave the first episode on MAX a go. That was more like it, and they peppered some segments in-between so you got possible new viewers acquainted with the who's, what's and why's. Cope. ? Still, easily the best wrestling show of 2025 so far. Quote
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted January 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 2, 2025 How dare they put PPV quality matches on free TV, won’t somebody think of the buy rates?!? This argument is particularly flawed when compared with the actual quality of the PPV’s they do put on. AEW is like Pixar pre 2012, all hits, no filler! Pointer sisters intro, Hobbs squash, promos both front and backstage, STORIES, Ricochet looking bad ass. Other than a woeful Julia Hart return, a solid episode to debut on Max. Quote

It's ok to have top wrestlers wrestle eachother on a TV show. Quote
