Browser Brady
I know it’s old news now but the man still deserves a tribute thread. I thought Sid Justice was a superhero come to life when i saw him in the early 90’s . Seems like he did things on his terms and what suited him. More power to him. RIP Sid. Tim Healys Chutney Spoon
Had so many incarnations of his character but was still the powerful nutter that could murder pretty much anyone on any given night. I think he'd be a good fit in AEW now in a similar vein to Lance Archer.
NeverYield
One of the greats, a true larger than life character. RIP.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted August 31 Awards Moderator Share Posted August 31 Loved a bit of Sid - some of the all-time great squash matches. Cracking chokeslam, excellent powerbomb, fantastic look. From the '92 Rumble to the Survivor Series '96 match with Shawn and his ace 'SID' pyro to turning up in ECW and the crowd losing their mind, he had some really cool moments. I don't think he was on bad terms with WWE in the end so it's a real shame they didn't get him into the Hall of Fame during his lifetime. RIP. Snitsky's back acne
Sid had 'it'. He had a presence and a charisma that you cannot teach. He is a guy who, if you knew nothing else about him, you would be convinced he was somebody just by how he looked and carried himself. I was convinced for the longest time, due to his gimmick and the incident with Arn, that he was genuinely a bit of a crazy, hardcase (y'know, 'all the best gimmicks are the person with the volume turned up' etc) but all reports indicate he was a really nice, genuine, down to Earth guy so it's a credit to him that he was so effortlessly able to portray a dangerous psycho. Sid was money. He pissed charisma and got over anywhere he went. RIP Sid.
JakeRobertsParoleOfficer
Genuinely gutted about this, had no idea he was ill, looked happy and well in the pics posted. Awful he never got the HOF whilst he was still alive! Had the look, size, and charisma! Deserved another run when his leg had recovered as still looked the business!!! Paid Members FLips Posted August 31 Paid Members Share Posted August 31 Really bummed out by this. He was a big part of my early fandom as nearly all the tapes my mates had or I had featured him. Whether it was the early 90s Sid Justice stuff or his later run as Sycho Sid. Even his late WCW stuff got my attention, though in hindsight that Powerbomb match with Nash was brutal. One of the best presences of all time and a crime he never got into the HOF before he passed. WWE were rightfully quick to post that Survivor Series 96 entrance because it's one of the coolest of all time.
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted August 31 Paid Members Share Posted August 31 My introduction to Sid was as part of the short lived Skyscrapers tag team with Dan Spivey. Always a compelling character with a tremendous look and a unique promo style. The master and ruler of the world will be sadly missed. Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted August 31 Paid Members Share Posted August 31 I missed him in WCW, so my introduction was Rumble 92, and I hated him for pulling Hogan out. But he was a scary, intimidating guy. As I stopped watching in 96, I missed his big WWF run but I always found him to be a talented big guy who seemed to put his family first, which in the wrestling industry especially at that time, I really respect. He even looked good when he had that match with Heath on Raw.
Paid Members Statto Posted August 31 Paid Members Share Posted August 31 I always loved big Sid from the moment I saw him when WCW turned up on ITV. Was reflecting the other day, and whilst I might be missing someone obvious, I think Sid might have been the first fully recognisable jump between promotions in my wrestling fandom. Snitsky's back acne
Watch this and tell me Sid doesn't look like the most intimidating, dangerous mother fucker ever. Charisma from every pore. Edited August 31 by Snitsky's back acne
TildeGuy~!
Used to love his entrance as Psycho Sid where he’d fist bump fans on the way to the ring. RIP

Chili
Hello all, we're back! Thank goodness. Like everyone I'm gutted about Sid. On his day (and very much with the right opponent) he could have some great matches, but I think it was the murking enhancement talent I loved the most. A guy who absolutely had whatever IT is. There are so many failed big tall dudes in wrestling. What made Sid work was that as a character, he was incredibly believable that he was absolutely fucking mental and completely off his box, yet still cool. His whisper then LOUD promo style often got shit from folk who are toffee nosed about what's a good worker/promo but it made him look unhinged. It's how someone like say Lance Archer should be permanently booked. Here's Sid at the ECW Arena destroying everything in sight whilst the fans lose their minds. As much as the Sycho (stupid spelling) Sid theme was perfect for him, that Sid Justice theme just screams 'run for your fucking life.' Finally that 1996 return to WWF promo is superb, kicking off his finest run, with Jim Cornette selling it marvellously and some classic Sid. 'I can hear you screaming out for help... Help. But there's no-one there... THERE'S NO-ONE THERE!' Absolutely gutted, you deserved more of those stupid flowers and you played them promoters like a fiddle sometimes, got the money, played with his grandkids. Well done you big mad lad. NavigatorFan
4 hours ago, Chili said: Well done you big mad lad. Think this is the perfect way to sum up 'the master and the ruler of the worlds' legendary career! So glad that I got to meet him at FTLOW a couple of years ago. Had a lovely chat about anything and everything other than wrestling. Throughout the day bumped into him a couple more times and he always made sure to give me one of his legendary fist bumps. Truly one of the greats in an era that will always be my favourite. RIP Sid...you big mad lad
