I think it was established that Lesnar sent texts and was allegedly ready to get involved, but was stopped by being drunk on one occasion and a snowstorm changing his travel plans on another occasion.

I know now what I didn’t 8 hours ago.

Upon skim reading it and the suggestion that "WWE Superstar" is him (as the "UFC Champion" detail is mostly omitted but there is heavy implication that it's him in certain places) - heavy intoxication cancelled it. And yes, I've just become aware of the pissing per Supremo above.

This is the saddest I've felt to be wrong since Rocky pinned Erick Rowan.

Where was the demand of marriage from both those articles?

Its just something that has been said over the years, that he demanded she marry him. I heard that part in a podcast. But still, Breaking into your mrs house when you have an argument. Hardly matters WHY he did it. He's still a wrongun and a cunt.

I know it won't happen but..

I was sat on my own drinking cider thinking about this as you do

I wonder that if TK wasn’t such an argumentative prick the two companies could do something like this. Growing up the excitement of the Rumble was thinking about what surprises you would get but it doesn’t feel like that anymore.

Imagine the two companies could agree to let say Hangman have 20 minutes in the Rumble. What’s the downside for either company really? Like you say it will never happen but it would be incredible for the fans

I mean, just a thought, but if you highlight another company’s wrestler then a chunk of your fan base might start tuning into their show to see that wrestler. They might really like the show overall and start watching their show instead of yours. Just a thought.

Other promotions are doing joint PPVs, I don’t think getting chucked out the Royal Rumble after exchanging chops with the Miz is going to have people flocking for the remote. You’ll get a massive pop and it brings a bit of magic back to the Rumble.

Like I said it’s not gonna happen but thinking that it could somehow destroy a chunk of your fan base is mad

Thinking they'd agree to it is more mad, thinking exchanging chops with the Miz would be worth the deal and getting chucked out is mad. WWE only work with anyone not a threat or in direct business against. TNA used to be treated that way until everyone fucked it before it's mini renaissance and they didn't mind Mickie James popping in. If deals are made it's never in-ring, see when WWE sent Christian to Slammiversary. Also what do you do in return, A WWE guy is the joker in a Casino Battle Royale. It's real life business not Fire Pro.

Doors open for AEW then 😁

They won’t agree to it, which I’ve said twice now. It would just be a cool thing to do for the fans, and something that would be immediately relegated to the “yeah that was quite fun at the time” part of your memory within hours of the show finishing, and everyone moves on. No need for talent exchange or any other bullshit. A one off surprise Royal Rumble entrant that isn’t some schlub from NXT

Exactly what happened when they let Chris Jericho do the Stone Cold podcast after Wrestlemania. Hall of Fame-level own goal.

Literally seconds after their Wrestlemania main event ended - which is probably the biggest audience they’ll have all year, they paraded a big star that fans will recognise and miss, talking at length about another company doing loads of great things.

Always assumed they thought it would make AEW look small-time, and wanted to give the impression they didn’t consider them a threat, but it completely blew up in their face. AEW’s momentum and ratings grew so much that Meltzer was charting it, reckoning they’d eventually take over Raw. It never happened, but that’s a separate issue. I think they learned a big lesson that day. I don’t think they’ve even hinted at AEW since.

Aside from all the other stuff people have said, the idea they don't do this exclusively because Tony Khan might be a prick about it is astonishing to me.
