DavidB6937 Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 I'd not had a chance to watch any this week but I'd seen some weird headlines about the show not being good anymore or whatever so wasn't hoping for much. But I think it's still been really great TV despite the fact they're all absolute idiots and going off nothing. Of course half the fun as the audience is knowing what we know and I can guarantee if I was in there I'd absolute shit the bed. There's generally very little to actually go on and I doubt it's as obvious when it's not edited together so I can't blame them too much for doing badly. The only frustrating stuff is the obvious mistakes and the herd mentality based on absolutely nothing sometimes. I like to think I'd be a bit more rational and thinking anyone is possible but I also imagine it's incredibly easy to lose your head completely in there.. but that's what makes it all the more fun to watch. One of my all time favourite shows has been US Survivor over the years because there's an incredible balance between gameplay and personal relationships that absolutely destroys people. The need to win versus getting close to people and whether you want to screw them over and stuff like that is such a wonderful thing to watch play out. Especially when it's so completely different from one person to the next. Traitors has managed to tap into that perfectly and as long as they continue to have a good varied cast it'll be addictive television. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted January 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 16, 2025 (edited) Linda finally gets the boot and Jake rightfully got very excited about it because he's been waving that flag since Day 1. The casting for this season has been really bad. A lot of characters with main character syndrome, a lot of them with no critical thinking skills. There's a pattern emerging too of them still not getting to grips with the fact it's a game. First it got Kas kicked out because he was too calm and being a doctor somehow made him suspicious, it got Dan kicked out because he rightfully didn't want to reveal who he gunked because they would vote him out, and now they have Leanne losing her shit at anyone even slightly accusing her with logical explanations. Everything is a personal attack, and in some cases like last night what could be constructive discussions to deduce potential traitors and faithfuls devolve into slagging matches because they don't have the emotional capacity to handle being accused in a game. I could feel the air leave Alexander's body when he was talking to Leanne. He's a diplomat and she was in the armed forces for 12 years, you would think that could have been a restrained and disciplined conversation but nope. Felt bad for him too when they pulled him out of a coffin and visibly were annoyed he wasn't Leon and then accused him of not being sad enough. I don't know if they're told by producers to do not talk about certain things too, but how after hearing how the game worked, did none of them come to the conclusion of "why would a traitor put themself into a game of chance?" or even if they fully believed one of them would, why would they not think "well they wouldn't enter every traitor into it, so if we ignore those 4 who are most likely faithful it means we have potentially 1 or 2 traitors left in the rest of us". They instead went "Alexander was too calm he's a traitor" and "How do we know Leon didn't just kill Fozia". They can't see the forest for the trees. I get the forced recruitment is to prolong the game to fill the tv time they've booked, but it's very anti-climactic both as a contestant and as a viewer to be given the ultimatum of "become a traitor or die". What if they keep saying no and just dying? What if they say yes and then out of loyalty to the faithfuls immediately give the traitor up? I don't think they're actually given these options tbh. It's still an entertaining watch but because of how thick and emotional the participants are, it's been difficult to really get into anyone like previous years. Their ideas of who are really smart so far are Yin because she can read, and Charlotte who is badly faking a Welsh accent for no reason. Nobody is that good at the game on both sides, there's no mystery because every vote so far has been random emotion-based picks out of the blue based on nothing. It did give us two great bits though. Another brutal name spelling and Freddie in double denim randomly doing a cartwheel. Iconic. Edited January 16, 2025 by FLips Quote

Agree with virtually your entire post Flips, except this bit. Charlotte’s Welsh accent is pretty flawless. I still have absolutely no idea how it benefits her though. Quote

I don't know I think this season has good points and bad. Why Leanne is so aggressive and serious whenever someone brings her name up is beyond me it's not just a stupid game plan but it's really unnecessary your playing a game there not going to kill your kids. The cliffhanger on this one seems strange they either become a traitor or die and what that's going to just rinse and repeat. How many episodes is it commissioned for? Quote
Paid Members Chris B Posted January 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 16, 2025 (edited) The cliffhanger is waiting for Charlotte to reveal that she's not really Welsh and MeinahMinah to be all like "Erm... okay." Edited January 16, 2025 by Chris B Quote
Kfogg1991 Posted January 16, 2025 Posted January 16, 2025 Admittedly it's going to be one of the....why moments Quote
Paid Members TheBurningRed Posted January 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 16, 2025 Yeah they have to long it out. And it’s the right moment because Minah is likely to go next (besides Alexander) and then it would be game over. 3 hours ago, Kfogg1991 said: How many episodes is it commissioned for? 12 I think. 9 hours ago, FLips said: Linda finally gets the boot and Jake rightfully got very excited about it because he's been waving that flag since Day 1. Ruined it by saying he knew since the train. You didn’t mate. No one had been picked. Fozia reacting to the Welsh accent reveal. She also cackled when Linda walked through the door. I’m glad she got to see she was right via Linda walking in and not just reading it on a piece of paper. Quote
Mr_Danger Posted January 16, 2025 Posted January 16, 2025 It’s criminal that Fozia didn’t get to be the star of this show. Everyone trying to take centre stage, Leanne seriously overestimating her role in this show, and Fozia strolls in and scene steals the shit out of it. Quote
Kfogg1991 Posted January 16, 2025 Posted January 16, 2025 Oh wow Charlotte is going to win it as a traitor unless she does something seriously bad to ball's it up no one suspects her and her amazing double-cross of minah absolutely smashed it. There really are a few unlikeable characters this season just really aggressive and almost forcing there claims because they are the loudest. Quote

Daaaaaad! Posted January 16, 2025 Posted January 16, 2025 Tonight was the first time where they’ve made a guess that actually had some mildly reasoned evidence behind it! For once they’d actually based it on something rather than just how he looks feels dresses works etc. Sadly Alex wasn’t actually thinking as hard as that and it was a simple slip of the tongue. Have they ever actually tried to murder a shield holder before? Closest I recall was they only had one person available in Season 2 but I think that was because the other murder candidate was actually a traitor. Quote
RedTwoster Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 I’m amazed that Joe’s name has never come up as being a potential traitor. He poses hare-brained theory after hare-brained theory (and eventually, a credible one against Alex) yet no one is turning around and suggesting that he might be leading them astray. He’s really irritating, so I wish they would. 7 hours ago, Daaaaaad! said: Have they ever actually tried to murder a shield holder before? I’m sure this has happened, but I can’t recall when. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted January 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 17, 2025 I can’t believe Leanne is actually turning people onto Leon because he’s not her best mate after a game that’s been going on for a week. She really needs bringing back down to earth. She’s becoming a detriment to the faithfuls. Joe is thick as mince. Whenever his mushy pea brains find a decent thought he latches onto it like it’s the last raft off the Titanic and it always results in a faithful getting kicked out. I said to my wife they should try and murder one of the four potential badge holders because it will throw shit into the mix and it looks like Charlotte was right onto the same plan. It’s a good idea and I stand by it. Quote
Mr_Danger Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 The balls on young Toby to just shrug it off and tell everyone they have to move on after he co led that assault on Alex. Poor Alex though, he knew he’d fucked up and could only react in a way that made him look like a traitor. I thought Fake Welshy was nothing but a plonker but she’s a fucking puppeteer. Will be fun to watch her take down Minah. Quote
Paid Members Chris B Posted January 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 17, 2025 (edited) I'm not proud of this, but... why do I find evil traitor Charlotte incredibly hot in a way that I didn't find faithful Charlotte at all? It's like when Trish Stratus turned heel at Wrestlemania XX. Edited January 17, 2025 by Chris B Quote
