I need to find a space in the house to be able to set up paints, and then I'm in on this.  Like some of you, no interest in the games but I did love painting the miniatures.

I don't have a permanent painting setup, I just set up at the dining table when the mood takes me. All my Warhammer stuff is in a drawer in a chest of drawers in my dining room and all my paints, brushes, basing tufts and glue fit comfortably in to a 9litre Really Useful Box. Stows away easily and doesn't take up tons of room. Can be a pain finding the right colour paint but it's not a massive issue.

Got a game of Warcry coming up this Saturday, Maggotkin Daemons vs Cypher Lords. Cypher Lords are something of a glass cannon, whilst Maggotkin are pretty much Unga tar pits ("Unga" meaning "you don't really have to think about it, shove them across the table and let them get on with it") so it should be fun!

Well, I broke and started my Lion. I'm a terrible painter, but I find it very relaxing to do. And this mini is so good it coveres a lot of sins.

Warhammer is quality, haven't actually painted a model or played it in years but I'm still into the lore and I've watched a few battle reports recently on YouTube. 

Black Library is always good for some decent reads aswell.

Apologies for the Thread Necromancy but I had a game of Warcry on Saturday and actually managed to eke out a win using a deep, nuanced strategy I call "Have A Plaguebearer Jump Off A Bridge And Land On An Objective".

Just finished my biggest model yet, a winged Hive Tyrant. I need to varnish it up before I get some more angles because it's superglued together and is desperate to fall to pieces but I really enoyed putting it together.

Finished up a small Sylvaneth band for my wife. Absolute bastards to paint, and even worse I decided I'd do it without sub-assemblies - immediate regret.

Ended up quite liking these, learned a lot about technique while doing them that I'll take into future projects - got some more models to add but I need to paint something else first so I'm doing something nice and simple. A Chaos Heldrake for the housemate.

Those are looking great, Sylvaneth is an army I’ll give a shot to at some point, got a small army sitting unbuilt at the moment (among the rest of the massive ‘to do’ pile).

I’ve not played much at all in the last 18 months but still maintaining a healthy output of painting, 64 models so far this year including 2000pts of Gloomspite Gitz.

Bought a cracking game called Guards of Traitors Toll.  It’s about solving crimes and keeping the peace in the city.  The aim is not to kill people, but you can almost get them there which is nice.  Unfortunately when I went to Element Games to get some new paints to make my city folk look pretty, I discovered that Kill Team now has a solo mode.  My £10 shopping trip became £100!

Yeah, that's interesting and I definitely need an excuse to buy some Kill Team stuff. Is it in the new box set or something?

Had a game of trench crusade the other day.. It's a kickstart community project and the community around it seems really good. One of my mates has really got into it. It's a relatively quick and simple skirmish game, and the rules work really well - it felt well balanced and not unnecessarily complex. Where there were complexities they seemed to make sense and felt like meaningful decisions. 

The minis are really gnarly and the concept is really fun and well executed. I could see myself getting a team!

I mentioned Trench Crusade in this very thread when they were just getting going. I think the lore looks absolutely horrific (in a good way).

Sadly despite liking miniature wargames I'm dog shit at painting and have no intention of ever doing so again.

Having said that I have recently taken the plunge into Peter's Paper Boys.

Military illustrator, Peter Dennis, has created a series of paper miniatures for various historical conflicts.

In the last week I have prepared more Napoleonic troops than I could ever have painted in a lifetime.

It's a cheap alternative too.
