Having said that I have recently taken the plunge into Peter's Paper Boys.

Military illustrator, Peter Dennis, has created a series of paper miniatures for various historical conflicts.

In the last week I have prepared more Napoleonic troops than I could ever have painted in a lifetime.

It's a cheap alternative too.

Checked it out, and I am thankful he's only doing historical stuff, which I haven't much interest in. If he was doing fantasy/sci-fi stuff, I would be in trouble. Would be yet another case of me biting off more than I can chew.

Yeah, that's interesting and I definitely need an excuse to buy some Kill Team stuff. Is it in the new box set or something?

The solo rules are in the new Core Rulebook that is separate from the boxed starter.

My birthday is next month, and now all previous plans are out the window in favour of getting a bunch of Kill Team stuff thanks to you.

Nice one, cheers. Will definitely buy the book and let it get dusty next to a load of grey plastic and my Leviathan I've still not finished painting.

This fell into my car today thanks to Element Games.  Can’t wait to get it painted, up and running.

Went a bit crazy this last week. My 2000pts marines shot up to 3500 points, and I got 1400pts of Tyranids.

My bank account is not happy.

I feel you. I'm on a Kill Team kick now and have the starter set to work my way through, while deciding to make a big switch in my wet pallette and to move over to largely AK paints. Hurt my wallet pretty bad.

On the bright side, I finally finished painting up my Chaos Heldrake - housemate gave me it for Christmas as a painting challenge and it has been an absolute bastard to finish.

The lightning was the reason it took forever. I did an initial version, then painted all the trim, then decided I hated the lightning and could do it better so repainted two layers of the blue to repaint the lightning inside the gold.

This was the original lightning, which was just a bit too angular for me, looked unnatural and a little like a child had drawn it.

First version is better than I think you give credit for, but yeah the finished product justified the redo!

I stick to Age of Sigmar over 40K, although I am currently finishing a Blood Bowl team. Having recently been (and will be again after the blood bowl) working on Chaos I feel your pain on the trim issue.

I'm not as familiar with AOS as other stuff - those both look like Archaon the Everchosen. But which one is he, and what's the other one then?

The first one is Abraxia, Spear of the Everchosen and the other is Eternus who works in service to Be’lakor the first Daemon Prince. All the same faction as Archaon though

I’ve put kill team on hold at the moment, but will have to get back into it sometime as I’ve spent a shitload of stuff on it.  Really enjoying Moonstone and Warcry, and have just started Middle Earth Strategy Battle game and it’s great fun.

My wife suggested a trip to Warhammer World for my birthday. Cracking day out, wandering through the exhibits, food and drink at their bar, and a shopping spree. And afterwards my wife said she enjoyed it so much that she would like to try to play.
