The Reverend
Itās a really sad state of affairs, At one time she had the world at her feet, I honestly believe that she couldāve been a huge breakout star and crossed over into the mainstream with her looks, charisma and talent. I think a lot of it was wrong time. Wrong place. 1997, when she hit her pinnacle in the WWF (and most downloaded celeb or whatever it was) saw the promotion and the industry in a bit of a mess. Had she not peaked then, I think off the back of the heat wrestling was getting in ā98 and ā99 she couldāve ended up in a mainstream movie or TV show. But why did she end up like this? Well the substance abuse problems are a major factor, but Iāve worked with her when she came over to the UK and I have to say that she has a real problem accepting the fact her time is done. Sheās like Katie (Jordan) Price in that way. She had everything when she was young ā but canāt handle the fact itās no longer there (despite the fact sheās the one who ballsed it all up). In her mind she is still the 1997 Sunny. She has a rule (and this all from her mouth) that she wouldnāt date a man over the age of 28 and she insisted that everyman still wanted her. She sat having breakfast showing a video of her latest āboyfriendā playing with himself ā but Iām pretty sure it was just a generic wank video sheād pulled off PornHub or somewhere. Quite pathetic. Itās really sad what happened to her ā her book was a complete mess (and I had a major problem with her about that) and even her porn career was utter dross. In her eyes sheās still a star and relevant ā and she canāt accept itās over. The sad thing is the industry she got involved in, and the people she associated with, screwed her up at a really young age. The only saving grace in all this ā everytime you see her a headline with her name, you almost expect it to be about her passing away. Itās sad thatās actually itās a relief that itās just about her going batshit mental again!

To be picked out of relative obscurity and be told essentially the world revolves around you at 23 and then be told you're past it 3 years later must be difficult to cope with even outside the toxic mess of wrestling of the time.Ā It's sad because she's in a position where no one can help her until she helps herself, but I just don't see that happening and there being an even sadder end to an already sad story.Ā
Paid Members air_raid Posted January 14, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 14, 2022 (edited) If we want to get into the WWF career, she was a massive star that they forgot what to do with as soon as they realised they wanted her to be a mainstream crossover star and she wouldnāt be a manager any more. They had her commentating, presenting, ring announcing, refereeing, working the Superstar Line, coming out to model the new t-shirt, doing a ton of roles but none that made her as focal a point as she had been, even in the tag division, but the real issue was when they started having Sable do the same gigs and popping ratings mid 97. There was 100% room for both but when the jealousy crept in, Tammy became a pain in the arse and the feeling of āone or the otherā started coming to the surface. Putting her with LOD might have been a decent way to get life back into the Sunny character had they not been programmed with the increasingly popular New Age Outlaws and allowed to be superheroes, but by that point she was too far gone with the bad habits and disruptive behaviour, so she was an easy cut since Sable had overtaken her in pops and in merch. Chili
Go on and give the Crime in Sports episode about her a whirl. Her ability to not listen and fuck up because of substance, idiocy and entitlement is incredible. She looks like a proper survivalist in that shot on the story link. Tammy Sytch becoming full 'this is my rifle this is my flag' after seeing 1997 Sunny is a crazy world. Its hard to muster much sympy at times.Ā Edited January 14, 2022 by Chili

Even if she didn't have drug issues and never got into wrestling I don't think she'd be a particularly nice person,Ā and nothing excuses that and that's on her. Would she be in the state she is in if she never got into wrestling, possibly. However I'd still love to see her get over her ongoing drug and emotional issues and will always have some part of me that would love to read she's on her feet and happy working a normal job and enjoying her life because wrestling does have to hold it's hands up with her to a degree and while people in wrestling did try to help her and take some accountability it was all too little to late. In short she's a nasty bitch by all accounts, but I'd like to see her be a happy drug free nasty bitch.

Chili
@Tommy!Ā Oh agree. I'd prefer she cleaned and lived an anonymous life than other options. Regarding the Sable thing. I wonder if SOME of the Sable stuff about her was massively exaggerated because wrestlers are petty shits. Has Bret or someone ever ripped into Sable. I know by 1999 she was a headache and vice versa but in 1997 Sunny probably hated her for a variety of professional reasons that cos Tammy became easily personal.Ā

Snitsky's back acne
Tammys is an interesting case study... Paige started in WWE at about the same age as Tammy. Paige was in modern day WWE with a large female network to surround herself with and still had a myriad of issues relating to drink/drug/sex. Now think that Tammy was in the cesspool of drug abuse and toxic masculinity that was mid 90s WWF and was literally one of only not even a handful of women at the time. She acknowledges that HBK pushed his erection up against her when she was backstage one night, Sean Waltman acknowledged shitting in her food during a three week tour in Germany (where she would have been THE only woman on the tour) and her first experience with alcohol and drugs was around that time too. Bear in mind, these are just the things we know about. Add to that a crazy level of fame at such an early age and its no wonder she is messed up. Difference is she seems incapable of accepting any responsibility for her actions, or changing her behaviour,Ā and she was joking about how other wrestlers had her and Chris in the 'dead pool' as far back as 1998. She acknowledges using drugs but was never a drug addict. She acknowledges having gone to jail but is not a criminal. She acknowledges doing a sex tape but is not a porn star. A psychologist would have a field day with Tammy. Was it 'the business' that did this? I'm sure it didnt help but ultimately Tammy is responsible for her own actions and after 20+ years of the same destructive behaviour you have to think - maybe it is just her? If so surely it's him exaggerating them. Sable wasn't a mark for wrestling, which might be her biggest crime to most people in wrestling. It was a pay day and a stepping stone to her, and that's odd to people who don't see it that way in the wrestling bubble. That and ultimately Vince and co didn't see them as people, just a pair of tits. "you're a superstar, now jiggle for the camera or we'll find someone younger to be a star". That said that's how most fans saw them too at the time, be that effect and cause or cause and effect as horrible as it is to admit. That's proven by how quickly sunny was replaced by Sable, Sable by Debra and Debra by a load of local lasses with godfather.
