Snitsky's back acne Posted August 14 Posted August 14 (edited) In 1994, WWF ran a summer tour in Europe. One event took place on a ski slope in Innsbruck, Austria. However, the previous day they had a show at "Messegelande" in Wels, Austria. According to reports the show drew less than 800 people and by the looks of things was held in an open air space/fairgrounds akin to the old CWA shows in Vienna. I would love to see footage of this if any exists. Seeing Razor Ramon, Diesel, Shawn Michaels, Lex Luger and others in such a basic, stripped back setting is really fascinating to see in my opinion. Chico Torres Posted August 14 Posted August 14 Interesting to see the Rock n Roll Express on tour with the WWF in July 1994 in Europe, facing the Smoking Gunns every night ok the tour. Why were they there? Were they playing heel? Don’t recall them being there otherwise, only in late 1993 ahead of the Survivor Series match with the Heavenly Bodies, they did have a very good tv match with Well Dunn as well. Quote

They were just brought in because of the SMW relationship and the give them some paydays. Nobody ever had a good TV match with Well Dunn. Quote

Paid Members BomberPat Posted August 14 Paid Members Posted August 14 My best guess is that they were just incredibly short on tag teams, and they wanted somebody with experience to tune up the Gunns, and got the Rock N Roll Express as a favour from SMW. Mad that it's for a European tour, though. Looking on Cagematch, the house shows going on in the US at the same time only had one tag match apiece, either The Headshrinkers vs. Well Dunn or The Headshrinkers vs. Double Trouble. The Steiners were gone, Mo was injured so no Men On A Mission, The Quebecers have broken up...that still leaves The Heavenly Bodies, but otherwise it just looks like they literally didn't have enough tag teams to run a tag match on two separate house show loops at the same time without throwing two singles guys together, or bringing in an established team from elsewhere. Definitely. Not that I expected myself to be in the position of Well Dunn advocate on this fine Friday, but they were a perfectly serviceable lower card tag team. Basically a State Patrol level act and they were fine in that role, jobbers with a gimmick. Were they in matches as good as Steiners vs Money Inc? Definitely not. Quote

I thought they were shit and so we're the State Patrol. I do agree on liking enhancements with a bit of something to them though so I get why you'd have them about. Being so shit they always lost to The Bushwhackers was about as good as they'd deserve. Quote
