Still absolutely astonishingly expensive compared to what a ticket for a gig costs in my head, but I'm happy to be going nonetheless. Quote

I had a little pot of rainy day money set aside, which I've had since my nan passed. It's been there a while, not really dipped into it. And, if you think I'm a well adjusted man who made peace with the fact his Tuesday tickets might not be perfect but at least I'd be there... you'd be wrong. I now have tickets to both Manchester shows and the Liverpool show, and a significantly smaller (see: pretty much non-existant) pot of rainy day money. Sorry nan. Mrs HG had suggested France for a holiday next year anyway, combine it with Bruce and that’s a very happy week away. Quote

Tried again today with the Live Nation pre-sale. Despite just over 6000 in front of me in the queue, I managed to get a ticket at Manchester for the 20th. Also, a new date has been added at Anfield. I wish my sickness had been contained to the other day. I've thrown my finances into disarray, but I'm now going to all 3 Manchester shows and both Anfield shows. I'm stung from when I saw him 2012 (I think) where I went to a few shows, then the next night when I didn't go he - unannounced - did Born to Run in full as part of his set. Fuck sake. On a side note, I'm currently going through all his records again (and my other favourite artists) and scoring them out of 10. I want a scientific answer to my favourite album and favourite artist. No huge surprises, but Greetings.. scored a bit higher than I expected, Shuffle scored a bit less than I expected and BTR/BitUSA/Nebraska/Darkness are all still straight 10s. The River remains a solid 9/10, only losing a point because it's far too long, and the big surprise for me is that Tunnel of Love - which I remember being a solid 8/10 record - has been revised as a 10. Brilliant Disguise is an absolute all timer of a Brucie banger. **edit** and whilst I'm on a roll, Lucky Town is the most underrated album ever. People let their Human Touch dislike spill over. It’s a brilliant documentary and has many poignant moments, which was to be expected given the theme of the more recent songs. I think the reason Thom Zimny is Springsteen’s Director of choice is because he has a way to elicit the emotions of his subject matter via film in the same way as Bruce does with song. Quote
