SaitoRyo Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 Seven 'lost albums'! 74 previously tracks, 83 total. Cannot wait for it. It's gonna be released a couple of weeks after I see him live, so I'm curious if he'll play anything from it. Quote

d-d-d-dAz Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 No wrestler will ever be as over as Jake Clemons. He was getting Stone Cold level pops every time he stepped to the front of the stage tonight. Incredible show, just back now. My block was a little flat (it was basically entirely seated for 90% of the show), but it didn't detract from an absolute ripsnorter of a set. The E Street Band were on absolute fire, I thought. In particularly I thought Jake, Nils and the backing vocalists were utterly exceptional. What a set list. Banger after banger. I think I had near religious experiences during Youngstown and Because The Night. It all felt so vital too, as Springers has got the real bit between his teeth about Trump so there was some real vitality and energy and venom to even the slower songs. A billion out of ten. Back on Saturday to do it again. Quote

They’ve uploaded some of these bits: Quote

Back on Saturday to do it again. Love to hear this and glad you had a great time. I'm starting to get really hyped for Prague in a month's time (!) after watching clips and seeing that setlist. Good for you being there for the first Chimes of Freedom performance since 1988, by the way. Quote
Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz Posted May 15, 2025 Posted May 15, 2025 Reading some of the comments, I am gutted I didn’t go. However, just had neck surgery in the past two week (A5 and A6 vertebra fused and a cage placed in my neck) so even if I had tickets I do not think I would have been up to going… I will be on YouTube later looking at the uploads Quote
d-d-d-dAz Posted May 15, 2025 Posted May 15, 2025 (edited) I was going to post the setlist from last night, but I don't know how spoiler tags work anymore and even though I know he'll change the set up, didn't want to spoil anything for anyone. Edited May 15, 2025 by d-d-d-dAz Spoilers Quote

d-d-d-dAz Posted May 15, 2025 Posted May 15, 2025 https://www.mojo4music.com/articles/stories/bruce-springsteen-live-in-manchester-reviewed/ This review is *excellent* and also includes the setlist. It's insane how much news coverage the shoe has received. Like, I could tell in the room he was being unusually venomous but to then see how much weight his words carry is impressive. Quote
King Coconut Posted May 15, 2025 Posted May 15, 2025 Awfully nice of him to take your hundreds of pounds and spend the evening telling you how shit his life is. Quote

I wasn’t there, but from that article, and from some friends who were there, that wasn’t his point. Quote

He didn't. At all. His act has always been about telling stories about America from a place of compassion and with a message of caring for each other. That's his whole act. It'd have been absolutely mental for him to turn up and do anything but rail against the Trump administration, given he's a) a political act (to varying degrees throughout his career, but it's always been there) and b) the administration is the complete antithesis of everything Springers has ever stood for. He didn't once say anything about his personal circumstances, he was just clearly very sad and angry about the state of America - the main character in his whole storytelling career. If anyone did leave feeling hard done by, they're lunatics. Half his songs have some form of social or political message anyway. Expecting him not to do politics would be akin to saying not 'keep politics out of sport', but rather 'keep politics out of politics'. "Keep your politics to yourself Bruce... just shut up and play that famously apolitical Born in the USA!" Edited May 15, 2025 by d-d-d-dAz Quote
