Completely on brand for Roman as a character though, especially full Tribal Chief mode. Granted his face/heel trajectory since losing the other belt has been confusing to say the least but his essence has always been that he's the important one and whatever he does makes things the main event or the main belt etc. Quote

He's saying that the belt hasn't meant anything since he lost it. He has an inflated opinion of himself, that's his character. I think that would be absolutely fine if he had an established heel character who made those sorts of claims and the announcers consistently said he was full of shit. The blueprint is clearly MJF in modern wrestling. But Roman seems to have no consistent moral stance, he buries everyone, wrestlers and fans ackowledge him and annuncers are in awe. So when he says stuff like this, it doesn't come off as anything but a burial of the other belt and champions. As it did the other way around. It's more have your cake and eat it booking that AI is guilty of. Quote
