Where the fuck does the time go? My main console is still only one generation on from the 360, and half the games that I actually still play are 360 games. The time difference between the NES and 360 feels like a million years comparatively. Quote

We'll definitely go back and do the play the fee play once completed. Keep an eye on your console's storefront/steam etc as a lot of the Lego games often get reduced to a tenner, if not less. RedTwoster Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Are there any PS Portal owners on here? It’s essentially become a portable console in its own right now that cloud streaming is available. I’ve been working my way through 007 First Light on it through streaming, and even when my wife was watching Netflix and my daughter was streaming The Wiggles, I experienced no dips whatsoever and was able to stream the game flawlessly without even having to turn on the PS5. It’s brilliant and honestly much more comfortable than the Switch 2 given how light it is. I’d never been convinced about cloud streaming being the future but I could absolutely see myself doing the majority of my gaming in the way. Even during the fast-paced, intense sequences you wouldn’t have known the game was being streamed - I’m hugely impressed, especially given how badly Xbox Game Pass streamed on Steam Deck when I tried to do that a few years ago. You do need a PS Plus premium subscription in order to cloud streaming being, but for me it’s worth it - the games library that opens up is brilliant, I tried streaming Spider-Man 2, Tekken 7 and the Demon Souls remake just to see if I could trip it up and nope, it worked perfectly each time. The only adjustment I had to make was with Tekken 7 - for some reason it defaulted to ‘prioritise performance’ making the stream very pixelated. I switched to ‘high performance mode’ and it looked perfect, with no frame dips, skips or stutters at all. If you’re considering a PS Portal I can’t recommend it enough - and if you’re worried about your internet coping, keep in mind I live in the Scottish highlands, so my broadband is almost certainly shittier than yours and I had no issues at all. I’d say that’s disappointing, but Octopath Traveller 0 is also a reimagining of a mobile game and I thought that was pretty good, so they’ve at least taken a matcha mobile game and turned it into something enjoyable and worthy of full release. Hopefully they’re able to do it again, although I can’t say I’m familiar with what they’re working with here. Quote
Ironic Indie Lad Posted June 10 Posted June 10 I didn't have a problem with the Nintendo Direct. I go into them knowing there will only be a couple of things for me. I think more big titles like Stellar Blade, Dragons Dogma 2 etc. being on Switch 2 can only be a good thing. I've been impressed with the likes of RE Requiem, Pragmata, Star Wars Outlaws, Final Fantasy Remake and Rebirth. I could probably get rid of my Xbox and PS5 now and be completely fine with just the Switch 2 for all my gaming needs. Personally I am really looking forward to Final Fantasy Resonance. I know its based on a mobile game but I watched a Hands On afterwards and it isnt just 'heres the mobile game but at full price on a console!". As post above already says, Octopath Traveler 0 was based on a mobile game and a lot of people really love that. I understand why some wouldnt bother but I love Final Fantasy, I love old school turn based RPGs and I love pixel art. Theres nothing for me to dislike here. Had tears in my eyes as soon as I heard the music for Ocarina of Time. I was turning 12 when OoT first came out and it was such an important game for me. I played through it with my cousin and then played through it again a second time with a little guide that came with Nintendo Official Magazine at the time. I wanted to make sure I did absolutely everything. It's one of those games I have replayed every couple of years and usually when I am feeling down and need something to connect me to a simpler time. I am kind of glad it was just a teaser. I didnt want to see too much right now. I think its fine to let the anticipation build for a little while as its still months away. Castlevania, turn based Final Fantasy and Zelda all before the end of the year. It's a good time to be turning 40 and stuck in the past. Quote

Vicky might be interested in the OOT remake, but I think she prefers the top down zelda games. I know she absolutely loves 4 sword adventures. Quote

Just to follow on from what Jazzy said - There's websites like Deku Deals where you can log in, add games to track and get notifications when they go on sale - you can see a load of the Lego games go down to £4 ish every couple of months on the Nintendo eShop Quote

It definitely doesn't feel like there's endless possibilities like Hitman. That's partly because those missions in Bond aren't ones where you're killing people. I think the alternate options in these areas are hard to miss, there's always obvious eavesdropping opportunities around. I'd definitely say it's more Hitman-lite than anything else. I love the addition of a bluff button though. Getting caught where you shouldn't be, telling a ridiculous lie on the spot and them being all "oh, carry on then" is wonderful. Quote
